Depressing - Surgery - July 11, 2020
Not good with Dr. Reitz or Harris Regional Hospital Staff. I had Emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction that left me as a paraplegic from T11-T12 during covid on July 11, 2020. This is my first encounter with Dr. Reitz. After coming up from surgery that night I complain with legs hurting but the nurse in the hospital didn’t take it serious. Dr. Reitz wanted to release me the next morning after less than 8 hours after the surgery. He looked at the surgery site and said the cut was larger than discussed. Hospital staff never checked to see if the bladder or bowels would work before I was released. I’m sure a lot was because of the covid issues that I wasn’t given the care that I would have been given. I was released and home 2 hours and became paraplegia with no feeling from below the hips down and had to call the ambulance to come and get me and from the hospital because I could move the hospital me to Mission to have surgery.

Don't go to this surgeon. He is nasty and not professional. He wouldn't wash his hands or wear gloves and I think he should loose his license.
