Needed perspective, useful feedback
Dr. Brown's skill for listening and then giving me honest and useful feedback has been a major factor in my mental health improvement and ongoing enjoyment of life. His initial recommendation for me to take Lexipro changed my life in a most positive way.

Dr. Brown is a genuinely caring person. While the appointments are only scheduled for 15 minutes at a time, he does not rush me if we go over. He takes the time to listen to everything I have to say and answers all of my questions. Unlike other psychiatrists I have seen, he does not try to tell me what to do. He gives me information and suggestions but the choice is ultimately mine. It's refreshing to see a doctor who respects that. Brown has never been dismissive, as healthcare professionals often are, especially with mental health. It boggles the mind but such is the world we live in. He seems to truly understand how hard it is to live with a mental illness and wants his patients to improve. He also makes himself available between appointments in cases of emergency, which is totally new to me. I'm accustomed to being ignored unless I'm on the schedule. I trust him and that's not something I take lightly.

Dr. Brown knows medications better than any psychiatrist I've ever seen and I trust his judgment completely. He has been a huge help for both my sister and myself. I highly recommend him.

Lady answering the phone is extremely RUDE! Doesn't identify herself and has a poor attitude. She needs a customer service class!! They definitely need to replace her if they'd like to keep their business successful! Would not want to deal with her rudeness when arriving for my appointment!!

This review is on Dr. Brown himself. I have seen Dr. Brown for several years now. There are a lot of psychiatrist that do not take the time they should with you. DR. BROWN IS NOT ONE OF THEM! He takes the time to check on you personally and any medications that you were taking. I do not ever feel like I am being rushed out the door. I believe him to be caring and genuinely concerned about you, making sure that you're at your best emotionally and mentally. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a Doctor to help them out with their mental health!?? I know their office is extremely busy and they have many doctors. I know things get hectic and confusing at times but this does not reflect on him as a doctor. This practice is at the top when it comes to the newest possible treatments.

Do to the outbreak of coveid 19 the Dr. was using a face time program through my smart phone. Even though my phone will not run that program and the office staff lady was working with me on it it simply would not work. I was then told that Dr.Brown would just call me which is a simple phone call. Simple enough. But I have been waiting all day for the " simple phone call " which today, again the day of my appointment I have not heard from the Dr. and when I called in to the office I was told, by a different staff member that the Dr. Doesn't do the phone call! which countermands the previous staff members words! I had better not receive a missed appointment status and a charge as I will not pay it and will just find a new Dr who can just pick up a phone!

I have been seeing Dr. Brown for a number of years now. I have treatment resistant depression and general anxiety disorder. He's very compassionate, very easy to work with, listens, relates, and he hasn't given up on me yet. I think one of the things I appreciate most in Dr. Brown, is his willingness to 'work with me.' As a patient, I feel it's my responsibility to be active and verbal in my treatment. He can't read my mind, or my heart. I have to participate as well. And, he'll tell me his opinion on my thoughts, or suggestions of trying a different medication.

A pain in the rear patient of Dr. Brown – Nov 08, 2019
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Brown?
Dr. Brown helped me through a rough chapter in my life. He worked diligently to find antidepressant(s) that wouldn't interfere with my other drugs. He also provided me with a list of potential psychotherapists and helped me find one who was a perfect fit. It took some time to figure out the best drug combination, but Dr. Brown supported me every step of the way. He is kind, empathetic, nonjudgmental and patient.

He is very rude! A distraught man came in saying his daughter was hospitalized with an emergency; dr brown rolled his eyes, sighed, and said, “I’m with patients”. Then when he noticed his patient wasn’t in the waiting room but had stepped out to use the bathroom, he rolled his eyes (again)and said, “ugh! just let me know when he gets back!” I would never go to him! He is clearly not able to demonstrate any kind of professionalism! Or for heaven’s sake, human compassion! He is in mental health!

Only giving 2 stars as I think Dr. Brown tried to care, but was more focused on taking me off meds too fast and defending his rude and incompetent office staff and money stealing office practices. ALWAYS late, takes patients that arrive late before those that arrive on time, always running at least 30 minutes late, talks down on my migraines as if they are my fault and my neurologist and I handle them wrong, did I mention how rude his office staff is to most everyone they encounter?

I was seeing Dr Brown and I missed appointments, which i admit was my fault and they were due to my depression , i couldn't get out of bed. You would think him being a Psychiatrist he would understand, he didn't and banned me from the whole practice. Every single one of their doctors and most of the doctors on my insurances list are in their practice. Very poor manners from the scheduling department when i was trying to find out why i was banned. It seems insane to ban me from the whole network.
