Abysmal Experience
I went to Dr Alexander for a routine vasectomy procedure. Following that for over a year and a half I experienced constant pain. When I brought this to Dr. Alexander he denied that it was even possible, said it couldn't be attributed to the procedure, and that I should take an absurd amount of ibuprofen for a month and hope it goes away. I ended up leaving and after lots of research found a different urologist who has treated PVPS (if you look it up you'll see studies from the NIH and Mayo Clinic). I ended up requiring a reversal to treat the pain. While operating, the doctor discovered that the procedure had been done poorly (cut far too low) and that the clamps used were placed 'aggressively'. Thankfully I now no longer have the pain. One visit to Dr. Alexander ended up leading to two procedures on a very sensitive area, and cost me more than $10k, not to mention the toll it took on my marriage and my mind. I now proactively talk to men both about PVPS and avoiding Dr Alexander.

On Nov 30th, my husband was catheterized for what we thought was enlarged prostate. On Dec. 28, he was admitted to the hospital with an acute UTI. All of his symptoms were becoming more severe. A CT scan showed two abdominal masses. On Jan. 7th, biopsies were done. We had an appt to hear results on the 19th. In the meantime, my husband’s health sharply declined. On Jan 19th, he was admitted to the hospital. Dr. Alexander refused to keep the appointment & would not release the results. Jan. 20th, results finally released. My husband had a rm sitter in the hospital, chronic pain, hallucinations, crying for help, intense itching. Jan. 21st was placed in inpatient hospice & had his first night of being pain free. Jan. 22, my husband died. Dr. Alexander ignored our pleas, had no right to withhold the results, showed no compassion nor did he ever call me or see my husband at the hospital. He robbed us of being able to do hospice sooner, relieve his pain & have days instead of hours with him.

Dr. Alexander practices medicine with compassion and empathy He has a great understanding of all issues related to his specialty and gives confidence in both his DX and treatments. His nurse always greets with a friendly smile and puts me at ease. I put 3 stars for staff friendliness because of one lady at the front. She is older, collects money & each every visit has been short and rude to me. Hate to be so critical but she sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the staff.

Dr. Alexander is great. However, his office staff is nonresponsive and unfriendly. Office staff do not respond to pharmacy requests for prescription refills, numerous requests go unanswered. Unfortunately this is a regular occurrence.

I consulted this Dr. due to incontinence after prostate surgery. After testing, which itself was an ordeal, he informed me that there was no surgical option which would eliminate my problem. Instead, he prescribed a medication which did absolutely nothing for me. He then prescribed a second medication which had the side effect of short term memory loss. I did not take it and sought out another Urologist who recommended a surgical option which solved my dilemma.
