Dr. Akture is excellent very knowledgeable and compassionate

I have recommended Dr. Akture to a few patients. He is an expert in complex cranial and spine care. He is a patient advocate, dedicated to evidence-based practice guidelines, and clinical care. We are lucky to have such an expertise in the Daytona area.

6 week wait and then he cancelled, so an extra 10 day wait. Meanwhile I’m in excruciating pain. Staff couldn’t care less. Finally appointment day. Not your spine, it’s your shoulder and anyway you’re too old for surgery. More MRIs. Shoulder Doc. Nothing wrong with the shoulder, need spine surgery. New practice arranged immediate EMG test and spine Doctor appointment. Surgery completed Aug. 15 now recovering, no thanks to Dr. Akture. Last straw, as I’m in shoulder Doc office Doc. Akture office called to cancel our July 20 appointment moved to Aug. 3. I’m sticking with Florida Orthopedic Associates. 4 extra months of agony thanks to this Neurosurgery Practice. If you’re not important or you don’t have an important PCP you’re never getting help in this 7 Doctor practice. Not one is available to the common person.

Not sure where the disconnect is, but Dr. Akture seemed knowledgeable and great. He said he would do my husband's surgery. He said even if insurance doesn't cover it, he would readmit my husband and do it that way. What I will say is that if you speak on the phone or in person with receptionist Danielle, simply ask for someone else. She gave us the wrong appointment time for the first appointment (not even verifying my husband's info, btw) & when we showed up at the time she told us to be there, said the doctor refused to see us. We spoke with a male manager and set up an appointment for two weeks later. The day of the appointment, they cancel as we were leaving and refused to call back. We had to call three times over a span of a week to get an appointment. Then, we get to the appointment weeks later, at the time she stated, and then said the doctor isn't there and is refusing to see him because we didn't show up 30 minutes early. They are messing with people's lives here, not saving.
