I went in with concerns about irregular heart beat and Dr Rivera blew me off and blamed it on my weight without any further testing. Went to another cardiology group for second opinion and found out I was having A-fib. Lucky I didn't have further complications or die! I would never recommend him to anyone.

Went with my father. Very rude nursing staff, and Dr Rivera himself. Hannah RN was not friendly, would often smirk when my father asked questions. Rivera has poor bedside manner when asking questions. As a medical professional with an advanced degree, I know you do not treat patients in this manner. Amarillo doctors have a holier than thou attitude. This would not work within my medical company. The doctors I work with explain very well, & could not believe Rivera’s treatment contradictions.

The staff was RUDE and lied to my face 3 separate times. Would not do an x-ray until my next visit to try to get another co-pay out of me. I spoke to my insurance and they told me that is fraudulent. I was lied to by 2 separate clerical staff AND the doctor himself about test result consultation. The doctor was in and out in less than 7 minutes, but I was in his building for 4 hours. Called to speak to the office manager Laquetta who was incredibly RUDE and would not let me finish a sentence.

Treats me like a person and not a patient. Explains issues in layman's terms. Excellent surgeon.

Dr. Rivera is very helpful in every aspect, he listens to you and doesn't get in a hurry in order to go to the next patient in line. He is down to earth and explains things where I can understand exactly what he is talking about. I feel like I have a good friendship with him because he actually cares about all his patients and it shows.
