Extremely rude.
It was a long 3 days with our NICU baby, he was improving but his sodium levels were still very low. We had been using formula through his feeding tube until my milk supply came in, I worked hard to pump every 2 hours and finally got my supply in .. I was so hopeful that it would help my baby after everything he's been through. Dr Figueroa came in and FLAT out told me that my breast milk would not help my baby. Id only wanted to try for the day to see if it would and asked politely ' since he's been on formula this whole time, and his sodium levels haven't improved, could I please try to see if my milk will help his sodium levels ?' He straight up told me ' your breast milk will NOT help him, don't you care about your babies brain? You can give him your milk but it doesn't look good on our end ' insinuating that it would make me look like I didn't care about my babies welfare if I nursed him or even bottle fed him breast milk. He was absolutely belittling me and made me cry.
