RUN!
Hubristic egotist. Although very knowledgeable, does not respect patient's rights including HIPPA. Fabrication and exaggeration are central within his visit summaries, in which copious incorrect info is entered. Interrupts and talks over what is being said, leading into loud arguing stance. Can be quite rude and dismissive. Inclined to give advice that is presumptuous and unsolicited. Fails to follow up with test results, leaving it to patient to try to get the info, and does not communicate findings of radiologic tests. Can't understand why he's listed as neurologist when the medical group to which I USED to belong has him listed ONLY as NEURO-OPTHALMOLOGIST and NOT included in listings of NEUROLOGISTS. During opthalmology exams, becomes impatient when you don't 'see' what he insists is there, making offensive grunting and GRRR noises. Rather immature behavior. DROPPED HIM despite being the only neuro-opthalmologist within driving distance. Good riddance!

Excellent provider highly recommended
I had a consultation with Dr Schloss immediately following a very unexpected brain surgery. I cannot underestimate how good his manner is in treating his clients as intelligent people with agency, who are not just sick people— he was engaging interested to know about me and created the perfect environment for me to feel safe to ask any questions I had. He was not in any way patronizing, but frank clear and enlightening and I came away feeling I had all the information I needed to move forward in my recovery. This is not always the case and therefore I cannot rate him highly enough.A truly wonderful provider of such an important service. Thank you Dr Schloss

One star because there is no option for none
First visit with my sister-in-law, the Dr. was wonderful. He tested her cognitive abilities and saw the stage of her Alzheimer's. Seeing her condition, he suggested she start thinking about no longer living alone and moving to an assisted living facility.Things changed on the second visit. My sister-in-law's cognitive state had declined significantly in the four months since the previous visit. The Dr. did not do another test. When told she has a home health aid visiting three days a week to help her (drive her to the grocery store, keep her company, etc.), I was shocked to find he asked why. It was clear he hadn't even bothered to look at his own records from the previous visit. If you're seeking a doctor who can't be bothered, this is your man.I'm taking my sister-in-law elsewhere.

Dr. Schloss is a caring, approachable and patient.
I saw Dr. Schloss for the 1st time right before COVID started. Last week was the 1st time I saw him since. Yet, I felt he knew me well. He listened carefully and made some changes to my medicine. I have had migraines since I was a child and have dealt with many doctors. Dr. Schloss has compassion and acknowledges the disabling impact of migraines. He also recommended a glaucoma specialist. i look forward to my visits.

I highly recommend this doctor. He provides superb patient care. He is a bit quirky but he is extremely intelligent. He takes time with patients, makes a point to explain diagnosis and treatment. He is very thorough. Honestly in my opinion he's the best neuro option in the Hudson Valley. Normally I receive my treatment in the city, and I opted out of another physician because he has excellent bedside, spends time with you, and clearly has good training.

Went in to see Dr. Schloss for visual snow, floaters, and other concerning eye problems. He assured me that everything was fine physically with my eyes, and explained to me that my anxiety and intense obsession was causing the issues to be so prevalent. He provided useful anecdotes to ease my mind. Dr. Schloss was very inquisitive about, and attentive to my dilemma. During my 90 minute ride home, I realized that for nearly the entire duration of the journey, I did not experience these visual phenomena. It was quite remarkable to see how accurate he was about the root of my problem. If you're experiencing something similar, you should absolutely give his office a visit. I much appreciate your care and concern, doctor!

Thorough, patient and caring. Dr. Schloss walked me down to the emergency room to insist upon an MRI. Has called me to check in if I haven’t called him. I haven’t ever had a doctor as concerned as he is.
