Dr. Evelyn Hernandez, MD

Not sure why I am seeing negative reviews on Dr. Hernandez. She is the best doctor I have had thus far, and as a young woman, I specifically sought a female doctor. After going through a serious medical scare last year, Dr. Hernandez was very patient, listened during each appointment, and ensured all of my referrals were processed before it got to the next step. There have even been times when I submitted a message in the evening and got a call first thing in the morning and an appointment same day. Hope this offers some insight into her practice.

1. Lack of Professionalism and Medical Inquiry:• The doctor failed to conduct a thorough medical evaluation. She did not inquire about my medical history or examine me. Her first question was about the medications I am currently taking.• I attempted to explain that I have a two-year history of a medical condition, regularly experiencing outbreaks during my menopausal cycle. I also shared that I had recently visited urgent care for XX and required a prescription. Despite this, the doctor dismissed my statements and refused to prescribe medication, stating she needed to review my previous medical records.• No one from the office had advised me to bring prior medical records or medication bottles to the appointment.2. Dismissal and Misjudgment:• The doctor immediately declared that I did not have XX without performing any physical examination.

Overall a negative experience with this Dr. Initially very rushed and not communicative. Very hard to get a soon appt. and she cancels and reschedules every now and then. She does not seem genuinely concerned in your health. The hardest part was trying to get a normal prescription. It was like pulling teeth. Currently changed my Dr. as overall everything was not comfortable and felt like a chore to get seen or prescribed.

During Covid (2020) I was pregnant. I got sick and felt really terrible. I called and gave my symptoms to be told it was only a “cold” I went to urgent care and was positive for influenza A. By that time it was too late to be prescribed an antiviral. I knew I didn’t have just a “cold” and was pretty sick especially with Covid Just coming out. I felt demeaned and it wasn’t even the dr that called me back, it was the front office. I switched to VA doctors now and am much happier. Listen to your patients!!!

Dr. Hernández has been my doctor for years. Yes it is hard to schedule an appt that is not two months out but she addresses all my concerns and her and her staff respond to my messages pretty fast.

Honestly, I don’t know what this office is doing. I made an appointment TWO MONTHS in advance. I was told they would order blood work in advance for us to go over. Cool. Never got the information. A few weeks out, called to check on that, and the staff told me they “don’t do that with new patients”… okay?? I arrived for my appointment today and honestly should’ve cancelled because I basically just drove out to fill out paperwork. Why don’t they do this online like every other doc office? They sent me away with a blood work order to be reviewed in JANUARY OF NEXT YEAR. The WORST. Really infuriatingly unorganized.

I’ve been seeing Dr H for a few months and am very happy with her! She is attentive, patient and responds to my emails within a few hours or within a day. I’ve been searching for a doctor in my area for the past year and did background research on doctors and so glad I found Dr H. Her staff is also very nice and attentive.

Dr. Hernandez ALWAYS takes the time necessary to listen to my concerns. She addresses every single thing I bring up. I appreciate her as a doctor as she is smart and shares her knowledge so that I can get a better understanding of what I need to do in order to help my body feel/do better!

She is the worse doctor on earth. She is very robotic with no emotions and decided to bill me for something I did not come in for (so I ended up paying out of pocket even though my visit was for a full physical which is covered by my insurance). I clearly explained to her and her staff that I wanted a full physical from the get go. If you want to avoid dealing with robots for doctors and want an actual human being for a doctor with an ounce of decency, then choose someone else.
