Best primary physician I have ever known.
I have been a patient of Dr. Akhavon since 2017. She is extremely competent, compassionate, and takes time to listen. She has referred me to other specialists when appropriate. I have never been disappointed with her knowledge and skill. Happy to recommend her to anyone looking for a primary care provider. I enjoy her office staff as well.

Nope
What a nightmare. Because of Covid, my first appointment had to be virtual. Dr was rushed and didn't take the time and care I needed to answer my questions. Had my first in-person appointment recently -- they made me wait almost an hour to be seen after my appointment time, then the Dr and a stranger barged into the exam room -- no introductions. She just launched into asking brash questions like "why are you here" and when I asked who this second person was, she snapped at me "that's my scribe", -- well how am I supposed to know? She didn't wash her hands before starting my exam and when I told her I was there to talk about changes to one of my medications, instead of asking which one, she immediately started asking my questions about my birth control and I finally had to interrupt her and say no, I have questions about a different medication. I asked for advice on how to get bloodwork done due to anxiety and she seemed annoyed. Never apologized for wasting my time being late. Pass

I’ve dealt with a lot of doctors in my life. Dr. Akhavon is awesome. She’s direct, she cares, she’s thorough, and most importantly- I trust her with my health. I didn’t have a doctor for 5 years until I was referred to her. I gave her a try and over time came to really love her as my doctor.

Dr. Akhavon has helped me and my husband since we first started being her patients. She is compassionate , very friendly and very caring. She is soft spoken , to soft for my husband, (he is hard of hearing) but we have nothing but praise for her. Her staff is good too!

Dr. Akhavon has been my primary doctor since she started her practice in Tulare in 2010 at the Evolutions Fitness Center. I've never felt rushed nor had to wait very long in her waiting room. Dr. Akhavon sincerely cares about her patients. Staff takes care of getting appointments scheduled, referrals and refills should you need them. Outstanding medical practice and support staff. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Akhavon is like my answer to prayer. I moved to the valley in 2009, saw doctors that treated patients like cattle, rushing you in and out. When I have a medical problem she will do whatever is necessary to solve my issues. Other doctors I’ve seen before she became my primary doctor made me feel as if I was an experiment. They would try a treatment if it didn’t work out they would try a different treatment. Not her, she wants to get to the medical issue quickly, so I can be at my best health wise. She really cares about her patients, I never feel rushed by her and she listens to my concerns. Her staff is so attentive, and always greets my by my first name and with a smile. I can’t end my review without mentioning Medi who is also a great member of her office personnel. I would recommend to anyone if you are searching for a good doctor, make an appointment to see her.

Dr. Akhavon has been my primary care physician since 2011. She is one of the most caring and knowledgeable doctor I've had. Her staff takes care of refills. In some cases I have ran out of meds on my own account and her offices have consulted with the doctor and called the pharmacy directly and I got my medication the same day. Every appointment there is Maria at the front desk taking my copay and making me laugh. Reading other's comments referring to Dr. Akhavon shocks me to the core. That is NOT my doctor. She is a good doctor and I would refer her to any one any day. Thank you

Dr. Akhavon has been my primary care physician since 2015. She is the most caring and knowledgable doctor I have ever had. Her staff is outstanding too. They take care of refills, referrals and appointments immediately while they are nice people. And there is ample parking next to her office. Very convenient.

Had a horrible cough, with congestion in my chest. Sent in a prescription that was denied by my insurance company for non coverage. Called the Doctor back daily, who never responded. Was laid up in bed for 2 weeks!!! How is it that when I'm in the office people constantly interrupted her but I was told she could not be disturbed?! Finally did respond and was issued Clairton...didn't help! Instead of apologizing for her actions and failure to respond, SHE QUIT ME! worst Doctor EVER! Insensitive!

Do not waste your time coming to this woman. She is not a good doctor. Her bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. She is rude and condescending. But that is just my personal opinion of her personality. As a medical professional, she is even worse. She's done nothing for me medically and after wasting the last couple of years with her, I finally gave up and found a REAL doctor to help me. I should've left a lot sooner. If I could give her less than 1 star, I would.

No bedside manner whatsoever. This doctor has kept me waiting for weeks to learn the results of a blood test, not to mention my aches and pains which she has yet to address properly. The staff is rude and unconcerned. I'm going to find a competent doctor. I don't know why I stuck with her this long.

She recently got terrible staff, stay away from this place. It took 6 phone calls for me to get a referral which the doctor had recommended, every time they had no idea what I was talking about. Recently I had a big issue where I was forgotten about in the waiting room, or more appropriately ignored, as one of the issues I came in for had not been addressed. I asked for a call back from the manager and never received one. Stay away.

Dr. Akhavon is something else.... On one occasion, called me fat in such a rude way. Didn't even say anything else after that... She just completely left the room after calling me fat . Said you honestly can't lose 20 pounds?!!! The next time I went, When i asked to get high blood pressure medication, Dr. Akhavon replied, I'm the Doctor, here. Such a rude woman, so arrogant with no class or manners. Makes me (as a patient) feel terrible about my health and makes me feel insecure.
