I highly recommend and trust Dr. Fernando Kim. I had large kidney stones in both kidneys and after a visit to a different Urology clinic in the Boulder area I was told a Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy was my only option, so I decided to seek a second opinion. I'm so grateful that I was able to find Dr. Kim, as he gave me options for less invasive treatment. Dr. Kim was very patient, kind and considerate. It's hard to find doctors like him these days. Today I'm kidney stone free, and feeling great.

Dr. Kim saved my husband's life in Dec. 2004. Les had a very aggressive prostate cancer but tests showed it was all contained within the prostate. It wasn't. Dr. Kim had to abandon robotic surgery in the O.R. and do a radical instead. He spent a few hours scraping as much cancer as he could. Not only was he an excellent doctor for my husband but I was treated with great concern and kindness. Les is alive and well, living the retired life in Kauai! Grazie, Dr. Kim

I was referred to Denver Health urology & saw Dr. Kim & his staff after waiting nearly 4 months for my appointment. They did some initial tests (flow, emptying, etc.) then ordered a CT. Seems the CT finding ranges from normal to potentially bladder cancer & they've had zero follow-up w/ my primary Dr or myself. Seems like the next step should be a cystoscopy? Or ? An appt to discuss the CT results & their inconclusive finding or the next step(s), it's a another 3-mon wait!

Fernando J. Kim, MD, MBA, FACS, is an expert urologist who earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Sao Paulo School of Medicine. He completed two residencies at Loyola University Medical Center, one in general surgery and the other in urology. In his free time, Dr. Kim enjoys music, golf, soccer and history.
