Dr. Frances Wood, MD

She has places 2 stents in my heart. She is a great doctor, she is very knowledgeable, so ease to talk to She explains everything so you can understand what she is talking about. Her bedside manner is excellent. She is a wonderful doctor

Met Dr. Wood with my aunt. Finally a doctor that truly wants to help herlunder condition rather than overmedicate. After our first appointment, we felt optimistic, “heard” and thankful for Dr. Wood’s compassion.

I have found her to be very thorough and intent on my understanding fully my health situation. Very pleasant and never condescending.

Dr Wood is an excellent cardiologist who cares about her patients!! She deserves more than three and a half stars, really? Come on people!!

My experience with Dr. Wood was life changing. She communicates about whole health concerns. I was admitted to Wake Med after 2 stent failure 12 days earlier from a hometown hospital. Dr. Wood repaired original two stents, and determined two additional stents were necessary. I trust her staff, team and continue to travel 2 hours for her care.

On 1/26/21, my husband had a heart attack. Dr. Wood did the heart catherization. I had never met her before. She sat down, took time to explain exactly what was going on, and what would be needed. She explained everything in a way that I could understand, and she was not rushed at all. She was so nice and easy to talk with. I liked her immediately! I felt good about her, and was glad that my husband had gotten her for the heart cath.. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Wood. She has a wonderful beside manner!

Husband had massive heart attack and Dr. Wood did excellent job saving his life by executing emergency surgical team at 2 am.However, when we left Wake Med, there was no appt. made to see her for follow-up office visit.Upon return visit to see surgeon,Dr. was alarmed at his color and quickly had Dr. Wood see him!!She was also concerned about his appearance and immed. ordered testing and made a change in meds.Meanwhile,imprvmt short lived and only appt still 3 mo out!!Nurse doesn't care either!

I found Dr. Wood to be extremely competent. She took the time to listen to our concerns, and thoroughly explained my husband's procedure in detail. However, I did make several calls to the nurses desk, which were never returned when I called to make a follow up appt, I was less than pleased with the lady making my appointment, she had a no care attitude, and was not the least bit friendly. Aside from this, I definitely would go back to see Dr. Wood.

She took two or three weeks to read test results. Misdiagnosed issue. Meds giving were not needed. Staff would not return calls.
