Dr. Francesco Boin, MD

After many appointments with my PCP detailing various perplexing health concerns, and then going to see a whole host of specialists, I finally was able to get an appointment with Dr. Boin. I was incredibly scared to hear him confirm my suspicions that I had an autoimmune condition. He was very kind as I cried and cried, both relieved to hear a diagnosis and fearful of what the future held for me as a young mom. He was thorough, detailing the different ways this disease could progress and the different treatment options I had. He was so patient as I struggled with the tests and appointments and medical bills, etc. He is an expert in his field, and has extensive experience not just in rheumatology but in scleroderma, which is rare, so I trust him when he makes a recommendation. I am SO grateful that I have a wonderful physician who will take care of me. His office (nurses, scheduling staff, etc.) have also been very accommodating to work with.

Having been diagnosed with scleroderma 6 months previously, I contacted Dr. Boin for a second opinion. Although I had tested positive on a blood test for scleroderma, I manifested none of the classic symptoms. Dr. Boin explained that it's not possible to make the diagnosis on a blood test alone. He determined that I do not have scleroderma and was very patient in giving me thorough answers to my numerous questions. He is not only a highly competent doctor, but a compassionate, caring man.
