Dr. Frederick Redfern, MD

Saved my for, I crushed my heel. He put it back together like new.

After having fallen in Las Vegas (tripped on a small curb at the Hotel) I was taken to Sunrise Hospital in an ambulance, I had shattered or fractured my right patella. Dr. Redfern was on staff that day and am I glad he was. I needed emergency surgery to repair the knee cap. He repaired it by using wire and a couple of screws. Dr. Redfern explained the fracture, the surgery, the recovery, healing process. In other words he was very thorough. He was confident and just a darn good surgeon. I don't live in Las Vegas, I was on my way to a short vacation in Park City UT, which had to be cancelled. I consider myself very fortunate to have had not just a competent doctor treating me, but one heck of a surgeon. My recovery will be long but I am motivated and following instructions. The scarring is minimal and my physical therapy is going well. I was lucky I had the best surgeon to care for me. Not that I plan on ever falling again, but I wouldn't hesitate to have Dr. Redfern operate on me.

Stuff is very unfriendly, very mean.

Dr. Redfern diagnosed my condition accurately and was able to alleviate my symptoms using the least invasive techniques. He never did more than was necessary and recovery was quicker than expected.

Dr. Redfern removed a tennis ball sized sebaceous cyst from the back if my knee 10+ years ago. Having it removed earlier by another doctor that grew back larger, he did an excellent job of removing it and it never regrowing back. Now I am in need of him once again to look at the bottoms of my feet where i am having issues with some kind of knot in them that has become painful. I would only trust him to do my surgery!!! Would highly recommend him!!!

You are truly a remarkable doctor and professional that I respect and trust. Your office staff is outstanding. Rachel in addition to being professional is probably one of most organized individual I met. She had all forms, paperwork, directions and phone calls under her control. Thank you again.

Don’t choose this doctor. If you have to drive to North Las Vegas two hours out of your way, BELIEVE ME, that is better. Gretchen is a lovely kind lady and was the only one that made this bearable. TERRIBLE customer service. TERRIBLE condescending treatment of insurance without over billing potential. There are so many doctors in this complex. Don’t go here if you want compassion and/or respect. Fine surgeon with unforgivable bedside manner.

Great doctor! After surgery on my wrist, there is virtually no scar. He takes time to discuss details and concerns with you.

I would like to share my experience with Dr. Redfern. I have been a circus performer for 30 years, i had damaged my right knee, where it had become very bad and looking to the side. On the 25 of July, 2018 Dr. Redfern performed a full knee replacement surgery. Now I can walk without a cane in just 40 day, and i am ready to get back on high wire circus. Dr. Redfern is the best doctor, i would like to say thank you for an amazing job, he has amazing hands. I will always appreciate for what he did.

I had a total knee replacement one year ago and have had a total recovery. Dr. Redfern has been outstanding in all aspects of the surgury and followup. I have recommended him to multiple friends with knee issues.

I have been a patient of doctor redfern for 20 years, I have had a multitude of knees and hand repaired over the years, including a total knee replacement, the staff in front of office particularly Rachelle, has been a great help to me over the last twenty years, the negative comments about her is unfounded, Doctor is very direct when comes to recovery if you do what he tells you recovery will be best it can be.

Dr. Redfern and the nurse with the short haircut gets 5STARS from me BUT RACHEL!!!!! She’s is the reason it’s 2 stars. She is RUDE, CONDESCENDING & just uugghhh!!! 1st and foremost i’m the patient if I’m asked to do something from therapy I’m going to ask for it. She knows she’s nasty because she once had to apologize during one of my visits. I’m trying my best to be cool but Dr. Redfern needs to place her in workplace training for basic work etiquette.

I met Dr. Redfern as an emergency admit in August of 2010.....I credit him with giving me my life back with a total left hip replacement! He and his excellent office manger, Rachel worked with my insurance for coverage of my procedure and yearly examinations. It is no wonder that I reached out to him for my right total hip replacement on August 30! Once again, pain free and so blessed to have such a caring Doctor and staff with my health & recovery their priority!

Dr. Redfern did a total knee replacement on my left knee in June. The unusual part of the surgery was that I he had no patella to work with because it was removed while I was in high school. The results were amazing. The hospital stay was short, and the PT was very successful. I wouldn't trust such an unusual operation to anyone else. I have complete confidence in him and his abilities. He is truly a professional. It is great being able to walk again without all the pain.

Dr. Redfern, did a. Amazing job on my hip replacement. My legs are even and stride is perfect! He's very concerned about his patients care. I did Indoor Skydiving. After my hip surgery.

Be aware....rude and no compassion

This is a really good surgeon! I have talked to people who have had similar breaks, but much different results. My accident happened on Nov 29th, the surgery on Dec 2nd (my not-so-happy birthday). I was told by most nurses and physical therapists that it would probably take about six months for my ankle to heal. But about four months later, I was able to walk without a cane. I know I was unlucky to have such nasty breaks in my ankle, but I was very lucky, indeed, that Dr Redfern was my surgeon.

I would whole-heartedly recommend Dr. Redfern and all his office staff. He is calm, patient, attentive, and efficient, informative, and most importantly, he was respectful toward me. He performed meniscus repair on my right knee, and now I have been referred to him with osteoarthritis in the other knee. I am quite looking forward to seeing him again! Under pressure, his staff also swiftly handled a conflict with the hospital on the morning of my surgery.

Dr. Redfern has performed two surgeries on me. The first was five years ago when he did surgery on my right shoulder (damaged from tennis) The second was last year when he performed a total (right) knee replacement. Both were 100% successful. I am grateful that he was able to restore my functioning to previous levels. My knee is better than it has been in many years. I also feel that since he is a sole practitioner, I get better and more personal care than at a clinic as so many are now.
