Exceptional
Dr. Makkouk repaired a detached retina in one eye. The outcome from that was excellent. Another ophthalmologist and an optometrist both complemented his work after examine me once I’d recovered. He is a patient, thorough, and compassionate surgeon. He has gone to great lengths to support me throughout my recovery including after hours. When you have a detached retina, you don’t have time for second opinions. You have to trust that the doctors who referred you are putting you in good hands. It goes far beyond that with Dr Makkouk. The quality of his work, and the compassionate care he provides has been a blessing for which I am very grateful.

I had a wonderful visit with Dr. Makkouk's office today, despite having to experience what it feels like to have my retina being lasered! Long story short I had some concerning holes/thinning in the retina of my left eye and was originally referred to a retinologist who told me it would be an outpatient surgery costing upwards of $600 (with insurance!) I'm so happy I did some more research and found Dr. Makkouk bc he was able to explain the process and close the holes using laser technology in his office in around 30 minutes, which was completely covered by my $50 copay! So Dr. Makkouk literally helped me save over $500 and I couldn't be more grateful for it. He's also extremely considerate and gentle in caring with a procedure that normally would cause some discomfort and agitation, but with his A++ bedside manner, I barely felt a thing! Thank you so much Dr. Makkouk, you're the best!

Very pleasant experience. The office staff was polite, welcoming. The Doctor was engaging, thorough; explained the findings from the exam in a concise understandable manner. I am recommending all of my family follow up with him.
