Dr. Gary Ackerman, MD

Dr Ackerman has replaced both of my knees and one of my wife's knees. We have had outstanding results from all three surgeries. My most recent surgery went well, however I overdid it and tore some sutures out of my quad muscle. We did not realize what was happening, I continued with therapy and played a round of golf. When I returned for a visit, doc knew something was not right. He opened it back up and found that I had torn all of the sutures out of the muscle. He repaired it and explained that it would take a while to heal. It has been 5 months since the quad repair and I am feeling great. I would and do recommend Dr Ackerman to anyone that has any knee issue at all. Cudos to him and his amazing team

Dr Ackerman did a left knee replacement on my knee 5 months ago. I am almost at 100%. He is a master surgeon, and his office is well run and organized. His assistant Geneva is awesome. Dr. Ackerman is also a friendly, caring, person and I would give him and his office ten stars if I could.

I had both shoulder surgically repaired. The whole process was smooth from the first consult, MRI, surgery, post surgery follow-up and physical therapy. Dr Ackerman is the experienced surgeon you want doing your orthopedic surgery. You owe it to yourself to meet with Dr Ackerman and work through a care plan that is right for you.The previous attempts with other providers or surgeons ended up in pointless PT sessions with the pain remaining. I was to the point where physical activity was almost eliminated. Swimming more than 15 minutes was painful. Sleeping on my shoulders was very painful. Today I joyfully swam 35 and it is pain free. I recently had a total knee replacement by Dr. Ackerman. The surgery went well I had exceptional postop care ! Everyone was kind and efficient at the office would recommend this surgeon to anyone needing orthopedic care.

Dr Ackerman did a total hip replacement for me. He was very thorough in his initial evaluation and explained the results of the x-rays and MRI. I was very comfortable with his experience and the way he treats his patients, so surgery was scheduled. The surgery was a complete success and I'm now 14 weeks post-surgery and doing very well. I still remember the day after my surgery - he came into my hospital room, sat on the end of the bed, and talked to me for over 10 minutes. He answered every question I had and I never felt rushed. I've had 4 post-op visits and he has treated me the same way every time. I highly recommend Dr Ackerman! I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Jeneva, who works side-by-side with Dr Ackerman; she is awesome also!

Dr. Ackerman is an amazing physician. He performed a complete right hip replacement for me three months ago. It went very well. I’ve had multiple orthopedic surgeries as a result of Lupus & Rheumatoid Arthritis. So, I’m telling you he is by far, the best Orthopedic physician in the area! He’s kind, thorough, highly trained, and cautious in his approach.

Dr. Ackerman has been my surgeon since 2018. A failed total knee replacement from 2016 deprived me of quality of life. A total knee revision became necessary. Dr. Ackerman performed the surgery in December 2023. My recovery is incredibly fast, even my physical therapist is very impressed. I'm amazed at the relief that I am feeling already. I love the fact that Dr. Ackerman, as a surgeon, is not quick to recommend surgery. He makes sure it's medically necessary after trying alternative treatments. Dr. Ackerman shows genuine & personal interest by taking time to listen & address questions of concern. He is patient & he explains clearly what's involved in your care. The office staff & atmosphere is warm, friendly and professional. I recommend Dr. Ackerman to everyone I know.

I can't even express how happy I am with my TRKR that Dr. Ackerman did on 12/26/23. I am 4 weeks Post op and doing great. My scar looks fabulous and even my PT it in shock at how much I can do already. My PT office is now referring patients to Dr. Ackerman. If I say Dr. Ackerman and his team are a 10 out 10, that is a understatment.

Yes. I am another pickleball statistic. I blew out my Achilles the second time I ever played…and yes, I am in pretty good shape. I was referred to Dr. Ackerman and was told he was the best, and he is. I had surgery in May and I was actually walking pain free by August. I have no ill effects from either the injury or the surgery. I am completing my PT and getting ready to resume my pickleball career! I've had multiple surgeries with Dr. Ackerman. He is an excellent surgeon. He goes the extra mile and adds a personal touch to his patients. His staff is very efficient and Geneva is a gem. She gives you thorough and immediate attention . Great assistant.

Dr. Ackerman performed my total hip replacement 3 months ago and I could not be happier with the result!

From the very first visit I was comfortable with Dr Ackerman he took the time to explain the surgery to me and my wife. He is very concerned about his patients, with my first one I had a problem I called about just as the office was closing, he had me come down to the office so he could see what problem I had and I live 1hr and 49 minutes away, he said he'd wait and he did.He has a fine reputation at Jupiter Medical Center as a Doctor who takes personal interest in his patients.I've had both knees done and I am thankful to have been recommended to him. I've recommended others to him since and they are well pleased with the results.

I recently had a right hip replacement done by Dr Ackerman. Eight years ago he replaced my left hip. I would highly recommend him! Procedures have improved since my last replacement. I was in the hospital one night and released early the next afternoon. I was up shortly arriving in my room at my request. They now have a phone Application that allowed me to avoiding having a physical therapist come to my home or a need to go to physical therapy. A cost and time savings. The application has videos of exercises to do three times a day, education information and step tracking if you wish to participate. I was thrilled with it. It also allows you to compare your progress to others. Dr Ackerman and his staff have been great. I have recommended him to acquaintances who needed hip replacements in the past and they were pleased. I will continue to recommend him, especially with the new improved procedures. The pain is gone.Jupiter Medical was also great!

Dr. Ackerman took the time to address my questions and explain the process from surgery to recovery, he followed up several times after surgery - observing my hospital therapy and confirming safe practices at home. In office follow ups have been on time, little wait, and again Dr. Ackerman takes the time to answer all questions and concerns.
