I just lost my husband from colon cancer and it is no thanks to Dr. Hanfling. He told my husband that he was too young to have a colonoscopy and that based on his symptoms, it couldn’t be cancer. Well, now he’s gone at 39 years old and he never wrote in his notes that my husband stated he had bleeding. The PCP that referred him wrote that but NOT Hanfling. Had he done the colonoscopy earlier, his cancer would have been detected earlier and maybe he would still have his life and be here with us. Leaving out key facts about a patients history is negligent. Do not use him.

Dr Hanfling has been an essential part of my life. As someone who suffers from a chronic intestinal problem I can tell you Dr Hanfling is a blessing. He has great bedside manner, is compassionate and kind and most of all he knows his stuff.

Office staff is a train wreck. Never called back to inform of cancellation and availability of earlier appoint even though earlier appmt. wad available. Never called to inform me of insurance authorization for tests. Incompetence cost me a two week delay in getting cat scan and other test.

The colonoscopy was fine. No problems there. But, the insurance process was, and is, an absolute nightmare driven by this practice. The anesthesiologist sent their bill to UnitedHealthcare right away but this practice waited for about 8 weeks to send theirs. Guess what? Totally confused UHC and they didn't link the two bills. On top of that, the practice sent in a wrong explanation of why the colonoscopy was performed, or at least that's what UHC said, and they are refusing to change it.

Dr Hanfling has been my gastroenterologist for over 30 years. He is a terrific doctor who really cares about you the patient. He answers all questions so that I understand what he is talking about. In some instances he has demonstrated with pictures what he is talking about. Over the years he has performed colonoscopies, endoscopies and sigmoidoscopies. Dr Hanfling's staff is wonderful and very helpful. I would recommend this doctor and his practice highly.

I felt like he wasn't listening. He often repeated himself without me questioning him. Furthermore, his staff has to much work to do and let me know it, when I needed an authorization request. Test was to be done the next day and was scheduled 10 days prior... One of the two girls were very difficult and angry!
