Two failed surgeries
I had a blocked tear duct and he performed surgery twice. After the second time he promised I would never be bothered by it again. He was wrong. While it was tearing less for a while it got worse and I am now seeking help elsewhere.

I had ptosis surgery with Dr. Lelli four years ago. I liked him very much but the exams around the surgery were unsympathetic and unimpressive. Then there was a six month wait for the surgery, during which time my condition worsened horrifically. Their attitude was tough!! He then cancelled suddenly when I had a mild cold. The surgery itself was traumatic - I was conscious for the first eye and it was painful. My eyes looked gorgeous but they were hyper corrected, to the point that I had not only dry eye but corneal abrasions. His office was totally unresponsive about treating it or coming up with a solution for the months where I couldn’t see or be fitted for new lenses or glasses. They really just didn’t care. So I went to an ophthalmologist outside Weill Cornell, who was much more helpful . About a year after the surgery I had cataracts, which they’d missed, and after that surgery and his genius ptosis repair failed. AVOID!!!

Very disappointed that after Dr. Lelli was extremely confident that he could cure my problem with medication he did not "go to bat" for me when the insurance company turned the RX down. This has happened to me with other Doctors and other medications. My other Doctor's have always succeeded in getting the RX pushed though. He DID NOT. So the build up by him was so positive that it made the let down really rough. The office did not help. Was told that they would get back to me but NEVER did.

I saw Dr. Lelli when I was diagnosed with cancer in the inner corner of my eye. He not only has the beautiful bedside manner but has hands of an angel. There is not enough praise I can give this doctor. I have no scar which is a miracle. His sincere kindness and operating brilliance made my surgery a pleasure.
