No Bedside Manner
I constantly have to reach out over and over for medication refills (of prescriptions I've been on for years). He has an absolute lack of any bedside manner, and I was recently fatshamed during a physical where he told me I was otherwise healthy but clearly needed to lose weight due to BMI (an inaccurate, outdated, dangerous system) and proceeded to list a bunch of medically dubious options for doing so. As a woman with a history of mental health issues who was clearly getting upset during this, he paid no attention and left the room immediately afterwards. Been putting up with this for a long time and I'm done.

Billing-Office Staff
Absolutely the worst office and billing staff. Advised me Dr Shore wasn’t available but I could see the new doctor who joined the practice, Dr Thayer. Told me that he accepted my insurance BCBS and took the $30.00 co pay the day of the visit. Now four months later sends my son and I a bill for $917.00 for an office visit/flu test and a bill for $689.00 for a virtual visit. Now claims he’s out of Network. The idiots at Northwell billing are just as stupid. Find a different doctor who isn’t involved with Northwell.

Lack of compassion and understanding
Dr Shore lacks compassion and the ability to communicate with patients. He looks at the chart rather than the whole person.

Making patients go to an urgent care instead of being seen at their primary care provider. I have been a long time patient. This time when I walked in I was told I needed to go to an urgent care first.

Couldn’t reach Dr. Shore for days. Doesn’t seem to have an “ on call dr” when he is off. After your initial appt., Dr. Shore does not follow up when you have a diagnoses that needs attention and doesn’t return urgent calls on a timely manner. ( I have been Dr. Shores patient for years and am not needy.) Blames his staff for any inadequacies and does not take responsibility for his staff. Find someone else.... I know I will...

The office staff is rude and the doctor himself doesn’t really care about his patients. I called yesterday at 12 pm in the afternoon to see if they can fit me in for an appointment due to not feeling well and they told me, they couldn’t to go to urgent care. Why would I do that? if he’s my primary care doctor and cares absolutely his patients he shouldn’t be turning down when not feeling well. When he became a doctor he took the oath to help people and he refused.

DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE! Go ANYWHERE else! The front desk staff (Jenn, Dr. Shore's Wife, etc) are the worst! They need a little kindness in their lives. This office (now part of Northwell Health) is not looking out for patients best interests. I highly suggest not becoming a patient there.

Dr Shore has been my PCP for many years. He provides excellent care, and genuinely cares about the life and health of his patient. The office staff are a group of wonderful people, as well as the P.A., who are also professional and knowledgeable.

Extremely rude when i had an urgent care issue. I had a terrible cough and askd for a cough medicine to be called in. They refused to even tell the dr. To call me. The cough is causing me to have difficulty breathing and to vomit. They said i have to wait an hour to be seen. I arrived and asked for a puke bucket, they said they don't have one and I'm 35 minutes early so i need to wait. Fever and Coughing uncontrollably in the waiting room and other patients were waiting in the hallway.

Just want to say- I have been with Dr.Shore now for about 3 years. I went to him after a major operation and he was recommended to me. I am so very happy I chose him. He has an amazing bedside manner and is so incredibly knowledgable. I feel 100% secure in him taking care of me..I highly recommend both him an his lovely staff. If you are ill and want to get better and need the proper care- he is the man to see.

Dr. Gary Shore is a wonderful professional doctor who takes care of his patients thoroughly. It's his staff that makes his office horrible. Been going to him for over 20 years but recently he has hired new receptionists that are rude and and unprofessional. I along with many other people who use him as a doctor have and will be leaving his practice due to the unacceptable rudeness of his staff.

His office staff is the worse and he never gets back to you --even in my case of an emergency! I had to change him because either he doesn't give a damn or his office staff refuses to give him any important messages.

Dr Shore maintains a close bond and level of trust with his patients. I have more confidence in his care than previous physicians my family has been to. Sometimes there is a wait, but this is because he always gives each patient the full amount of time necessary for intake and resolution. I drive my mother more than 20 miles from her home because of his thoroughness and calm demeanor. I have recently made him my physician as well, and would strongly recommend him to others.
