Dr. Gary Sturn, MD

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Sturn for 15 years. During this time Dr. Sturn has always struggled to employ competent personnel for his staff but my wife and I were able to maneuver our way around this issue because we liked the care the doctor provided. However, because of a recent incident involving his staff, regretfully we have no other choice but to look for another provider. His present office staff is very unprofessional and unqualified. They have terrible public relation skills and their physical appearance is very unbecoming for two people that are associating with patients on a daily basis. Dr. Sturn is a very good doctor but his office staff lack the skills necessary to perform their duties.

My husband and I were patients of Dr. Sturn's for 11 years in Altamonte Springs. He is courteous , professional and always a pleasure to see. He has taken care of us through diabetes, heart related issues , immune disorders and last year COVID. We will miss him very much but a recent move and change of jobs has taken us out of Florida. We wish him everything good life has to offer !!

The front desk associate is extremely rude, disrespectful, incompetent, lazy and uncooperative. She refuses to do her job in assisting patients with their care, hangs up the phone and refuses to transfer the call to management. She also refused to give her name and no one else answers the phone so I am unable to ask for anyone else's assistance at that office. Horrible customer service and patient care. I would never recommend any patient, friend or family member to this practice.

I called to schedule an annual check up as a new patient. They offered an appointment with Dr. Stephen Sturn in 2 days and I was a bit concerned as every other doctor that I had tried was scheduling 2 - 6 months out for new patients but thought maybe he's organized and gets new patients in fast. They called a day later and left a message that said confirming the new patient annual check up online telehealth appointment for tomorrow. I did not schedule an online telehealth visit and the patient ally website confirmed it was in-office visit. The phone rang and rang, and then a message said VM is not set up. I had to repeatedly call until I finally got someone to pick up. I told her I wanted to cancel the telehealth and needed to see the doctor in person for a full medical check up including having the doctor examine me, listen to my heart and lungs, and blood work etc. She sounded annoyed and said ok, ok, ok. She didn't ask me to reschedule for in person. Just terrible.

Dr Sturn has been our family physician for many years and has always giving us great care as well as the staff.

Dr. Sturn is a wonderful doctor who has surrounded himself with the most horrible and obnoxious receptionists and/or office workers. I'll never understand why such a bright and kind doctor would choose to work with pit bulls instead of professionals. They are rude and aggressive over the phone and have not a semblance of civility. The worst is Debra. She is an absolute professional illiterate who slams down phone, squabbles, and screams. I'm leaving the doctor after many years because his choice of workers reflects (in my mind) how much value he places on his patients - which to me, is none.

Spends appropriate time with patients, explained everything in understandable terms.

I established with Dr Sturn following a TIA I had on July 3, 2019. I was so nervous about starting with a new DR, because I left a DR that brushed off my symptoms (TIA- mini stroke) as Anxiety. However, he is so understanding and gives you such comfort when you are in the office. I'm glad I don't need as much medical attention now, but I know I can count on him and his office staff. The front desk lady is a doll. I only met her once, but I love the way she handles her patients. I'll get to know them by name eventually. Thanks for everything Dr Sturn. My family will establish as patients as well.

Horrible!!! I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone. The staff at this location is horrible they have no idea what they are doing and very lazy. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of work ethic and total lack of integrity by people that are supposed to be medical professionals. This office hung me out to dry on medical results and treatment. This is the worst experience I ever had among any doctors office I've ever seen. The worst experience ever. I found I have ovarian cancer, but he would never get back to me with test results; his receptionist was nasty and aggressive. He was unable to interpret the lab results and finally referred me to an oncologist (after I called him for results which he was supposed to call me about) and that person had graduated from a medical school in Haiti. When I asked him for a referral to another oncologist, he ignored me. I plan to sue him if I live long enough.

Doctor Sturn has been my doctor for the past 18 years. He has great bedside manner and is a great doctor. He has kept me functioning in-spite of myself. I am a very unruly patient. I do enjoy talking to him as he seems genuinely concern about the physical and emotional Me. Go and see Doctor Sturn!!

Dr Sturn is very knowledgeable and takes the time to listen to patients. His staff are always very courteous and usually get us in very quickly.

Dr Sturn has treated my eldery mother for 3 years. Although his ability and skill is not a concern, his one staff member is rude at best. Calls to request medication refills have not been communicated to the provider. After a recent fall we called to request a walker and were told to pick up a prescription. Impossible from across the country. Elderly patients are at risk for falls and walkers should be a priority.

I started seeing Dr Sturn in the yr 2000 my father ,my husband and several friends have gone to Dr Sturn as well. We love him he is a very well trained Dr knows what he is doing . He is one of the best Internists in central Dr. What I love the most about Dr Sturn is his Ethics and his approach to medicine he believes in nutrition and exercise!

Had my first appt with him. Was shocked that I had no wait in the lobby, I guess it was around the holidays. He was very patient and a good listener. I am thinking of making him my primary doctor. After I've been with him a year and having been treated, I will revisit this website and hopefully give him 5 stars. Being that I've just had a consultation, I don't know enough yet.

Unfortunately very disappointing. Multiple members of our family have been trying for days to get in touch with him regarding a prescription needed for my father. Dr. Stern has not returned any of our several phone calls or messages, despite calling multiple times a day. Not sure exactly who to blame in this situation. Whether Sturn is getting the messages but neglecting to return the calls, or whether the office staff just isn't delivering them, I can't say for sure. Either way, unacceptable.

Dr.Sturn listens very well, asks the right questions, some you would not even think about, he makes good suggestions, he's determined to keeping his patient's healthy and he has a good sense of humor.
