Excellent !!
Dr Dang had been my PCP for five years while practicing on Cape Cod and he is the best PCP I've ever had. He listens to what you say and then explains his thoughts on treating any condition that may come up. Then, most importantly, both patient and Dr make the best decision for YOU. He takes time to know who you are, spends enough time during an exam, is thoughtful and empathetic, he genuinely cares about his patients.I've now gone through three PCPs since he left two years ago and now more than ever realize how good he is. If he were not a three and a half hour drive away I'd still be using him as my doctor.

A wonderful, caring doctor!
Dr. Dang joined Hadley Family Practice two years ago, just as the Covid pandemic was winding down and after the retirement of several long-time, wonderful doctors at this practice. I was skeptical about finding as caring a GP as the one I lost to retirement, but my retiring GP recommended Dr. Dang and this has proved to be a wonderful recommendation. Dr. Dang listens carefully, is as well informed as possible about his patient's history and suggests approaches to patient care that are individualized and consider current circumstances. He frequently runs late because he DOES take time. For a GP as sharp, well informed and caring as this, I'm happy to wait a bit longer at my appointments. The most satisfactory outcomes result.

Informative Visit
Dr. Dang provided new information about a new condition, osteopenia, which was previously unknown even though I had recently visited three specialists, specifically for its treatment. He showed greater familiarity with the condition and more fully explained the results of my bone density scan, allaying apprehensions I had about risks and treatment.

Long wait for a very short physical
Physical exam consisted of the following: Provider looked in my eyes and ears, listened with a stethoscope while I breathed, and checked my ankles for swelling while I was fully clothed and sitting up with my shoes and socks on. He also lightly touched my stomach in one spot through my shirt and asked my if it hurt. That was it. No examination of my neck, abdomen, or any other part of my body. No hernia check or reflex check. I was fully clothed throughout the whole appointment. In addition, I was scheduled for 2:45 pm appointment and was not seen until 3:40 pm, for what amounted to a 5 minute exam.

Dr. Dang is solicitous, an active listener, non-judgmental, kind and receptive. I will never forget my first visit with him. I was explaining my history, specifically about my years-long and painful experience with endometriosis and infertility. He looked at me and said, “I’m sorry.” I said something like it wasn’t his fault, but he continued by saying that he was sorry for how male-dominated medical professionals had minimized my struggle and had clearly been insensitive. No MD had ever expressed such sympathy, perhaps even empathy. I was surprised and very appreciative. I hope you readers are lucky enough to have Dr. Dang as your provider!

Have worked with him for several years. While his special interest is in geriatric medicine, where he has skills in figuring out their complaints while being supportive, as a medical scientist, I find him superb for a collaborative approach to complex care. He has come up with insights that fixed things that specialists were missing, and also worked well with me when I wanted a specific change in diagnosis or treatment. He shares amusement with the quirks of healthcare bureaucracy.
