HORRIBLE DOCTOR!!I would trust my dog's vet over this guy, Don't walk away from this guy instead RUN FOR YOUR LIFE if you want one after this guy works on you. I am a nurse & know this guy, bad news. He missed some important points on my MRI. He wanted to do surgery. got another review and was told surgery could have caused me to never walk again.

Please avoid this doctor at all costs. He cut a nerve while working on my back and caused me to be in excruciating pain. We were warned by several nurses to switch doctors and to NOT let him operate on me. Unfortunately, I hoped DR. Silvide was going to work on me, but he was too busy and gave me to Dr. Phookan. He has crippled me for the rest of my life and I have met others that had the very same out come as I have had. Still in extreme pain and having to use a walker. PLEASE,PLEASE get a different neurosurgeon!

He treated a patient with special needs very poorly, making a reference to " if she was a normal person, I would not hesitate in doing the surgery". Very unprofessional and focused more on her Intellectual Disability rather than the reason she was at the appointment.

Dr. Phookan is an excellent surgeon. He recently did a back fusion on my husband. My husband had been in pain for years and is now pain free. Dr.Phookan is thorough and brilliant. His staff is excellent and caring.

Please avoid this doctor at all costs. He fitted my mother with a halo and vest and the vest was two sizes too big. This caused her broken neck to carry the full weight of the halo which caused her neck to be in excruciating pain. We were warned by several nurses to switch doctors and to NOT let our mother get under the knife with him. Unfortunately, my mother landed in the ER after a fall and Dr. Phookan was the doctor on call. PLEASE,PLEASE get a different neurosurgeon!
