Dr. Buncke is the miracle worker we thought that we would never find. Two very successful wrist replacement surgeries and my husband can live an almost normal life again. PTL for this wonderful man. Love YOU Dr. B.

If Dr Buncke recommends, or does not recommend, surgery, by all means get a second opinion!! After months of unrelenting pain in my thumb, and being told surgery would be too difficult and complicated, an operation was finally performed. After a similar injury to my index finger, I made the mistake of allowing him to operate on me again. My hand now has permanent pain and nerve damage, and the two “repaired” fingers have limited mobility and no strength. He had no real idea of what was actually wrong with my hand, and referred to pathology in my wrist as “gunck”. His “humor” wears very thin, and he became furious when I contacted him on a weekend due to unrelenting post-op pain. I would never utilize his services again.

I had made an appointment for a consultation after a crush injury to my hand. This office told me a week prior to my appointment that if they had any issues with my insurance, that I'd get a call. If I didn't get a call that I should consider everything fine and come to my appointment. As I'm walking up to his office, 20 minutes prior to my appointment I get a call that they can't see me because they haven't gotten my paperwork and they've already rebooked my appointment spot. Unprofessional

I’m really surprised by the negative reviews. I found Dr. Buncke to be so kind, helpful, and very knowledgeable with a wonderful sense of humor. He provided me with complimentary supplies to care for my hand. I would definitely recommend him to anyone!

Dr. Buncke is a good surgeon but boy is he a rude baster and mean man.Because of this I would not recommend him to family or friends. If you took the time to listen and be on the patients side and try to understand the pain the PT are in instead of mr. know it all.You might be a 5 star. But you are a mean man. You make your PT cry.I have heard this from others and found out I was not the only one who was put down so badly in your office. You need to be compassionate when PT are suffering with pain

Worst bedside manner surgeon of whom I've ever dealt. He was rude to patients and rude to his friendly/accommodating staff. Surprised he is still in business. Good surgeon, miserable attitude. I would NOT recommend him to work on my daughter's pet rat. Miserable listener. Recommended that family cancelled cross-country vacation to visit him one more time, and was livid when we did not take recommendation. Took recommendation of therapist and son gained full motion of pinky.

I broke a bone in my hand, the same bone in the same hand that I had broken a year ago. Dr. Buncke felt I would mend without surgery, so I opted for casting. While it is not a delightful experience to have a heavy weight pulling down on my arm, I was delighted not to be "antibiotic'd and surgered. The hand has mended and is better than after the previous break. Dr. Buncke's skill, perfectionism, sardonic wit, availability made the whole process "bearable". He's superb.
