Dr. George Drake III, MD

I met Dr. Drake last year when I was given a possible cancer scare from another Doctor through an MRI. Dr. Drake went over tests performed to until that point, explained everything in detail, ordered additional tests and put me at ease. Everything was fine, see no cancer but will continue to monitor. I felt very comfortable with him and did not have to wait long in waiting room or exam room.

Arrived for my appointment early and was put in an exam room. After waiting for an Hour in a cold room in an exam gown, the nurse comes in to tell me the doctor is in a meeting and might be another 45 minutes! I tell her to reschedule me. The doctor comes in and is unapologetic. When I say I don’t appreciate the hour wait, he says, oh has it been an hour? Like I can’t tell time. I told him I don’t feel comfortable and canceled the appointment. Some one should have come in at some point with an apology and offer to reschedule well before an hour. With his cavalier attitude I wouldn’t trust him with my care. When I left there was a full waiting room, so all those ladies had a long wait as well.

Based on all these great reviews, I waited over 6 months to see Dr. Drake. Then a week before my appointment, the office called and canceled. I had to wait another month. Dr. Drake never showed up to my appointment. I got a nurse practitioner. She told me that he was in the office, but she couldn't even consult with him. After my appointment, they called to follow up and I told them my prescriptions were wrong. I asked several times to have Dr. Drake call me and I never heard from him. Another doctor from the office did call me, but not Dr. Drake. Very unprofessional. I received a survey notice from Cleveland Clinic, in which I explained all this and more and no one followed up with me. Very poor customer service. Do not recommend. How can he work at 14 locations in Ohio and Florida and provide any kind of customer service.

I first met Dr. Drake in 2008 when I was pregnant with my first daughter (now 10). He made everything very easy and understandable. For each and every doctors appointments. He then left the office he was at and I followed him to Akron General. It's very hard to find a HUMAN doctor these days and he is just that. I've now had one more daughter (now 10 months), and he will continue to be my doctor.
