Dr. George Ford, MD

When running fever 3 days and sore throat, tried calling for appointment; 2 phone attempts totaling 1 hour each wait time, then system disconnected me both times. Never able to get through. IMED is the only portal I have not been able to set up (3 times got instructions but they wouldn't work). Dr. Ford is rushed and rude, doesn't listen at all. When I had one more question, he said "if it's quick, I can't get behind." His evaluation of my blood work didn't match the concern of my previous doctor; levels had dropped significantly--but no concern as to why even though he knew I had struggled with the issue long term. Contacted previous doc who ordered blood tests again and they had improved, ruling out internal bleeding (which was the concern over the low levels Dr. Ford could not be bothered about.)

The best way to describe ford and his staff is they are an embarrassment to the medical community.

It is almost impossible to get through on the phone to make appointments. When appointments are finally able to be made, Dr Ford rushes you and doesn’t take enough time to find out actual health issues. Getting prescriptions filled with this office is also extremely difficult. Very disappointed.

Very upset with my first visit. I guess I made the mistake of telling nurse I was finishing up an antibiotic for a sinus infection. She immediately said Dr. Ford would not see me. She even checked with him and he said I could go to my car and he would talk with me on phone. I understand with the Covid craziness these doctors are super careful but I had no fever, didn't look sick, didn't sound sick, didn't act sick. If I hadn't said anything they would never had known I was on an antibiotic. I had one left to take. I did not talk to him from car. (what an insult) I will not be making another appointment. I have a feeling if I were ever 'Really' sick this doctor would definitely not be there for me. I also had to wait 7 months for this appointment because first available for new patients was that long of a wait. What an experience.

Saw him for years and he was great: listened and respected what was said. But over the last #of years as he became busier, he seemed to get stuck on one diagnosis and even when other symptoms showed up and a simple blood test would tell if the new problems could be a part of it—nope, took me 18-24 months to get that blood test. I was right but by then had enough problems that I needed a specialist! People make mistakes, true, but 8-10 years later he did it again! Dropped my medicine that controlled that condition to 1/2 the dose & said “Come back in 6 months.” Well, 4 months later it was worse than the first time!! Is that arrogance or forgetfulness, though I did remind him?! Time for him to slow down or retire! I really like him but cannot trust him anymore.

Dr. Ford is very careful to make sure all details are covered. I trust him completely. He has been my doctor for over 10 years.

Excellent and very pleased with the care and support I receive. I changed my PCP to Dr. Ford last year and so glad that I did. He is thorough, an expert, listens well and communicates very effectively. Thank you!

Dr Ford is always very thorough. Starting with a friendly greeting, followed by caring and compassionate questions about one's overall health and if you have any underlying health concerns.

The best doctor that I have ever had. The other reviews here confirm my initial impressions of Dr Ford as a new patient trying to find an ideal Physician for myself, having just moved here to San Antonio. I and my wife are so pleased! Also so appreciate Nurse Jeremy!

As a new patient, I found the entire experience; from the front desk, intake nurse to the visit with Dr. Ford very satisfying. Dr. Ford was very receptive and sincerely listened to my concerns. I felt very at ease after speaking with him.

I'm a long-time patient of Dr. Ford. He is simply the best!!

Needed some tests before cataract surgery. Have been going to Dr Ford for 30 years and wouldn’t go to anyone else. He is absolutely the best. Also, his assistant Jeremy was outstanding. Friendly, professional and funny.

He is a very special doctor. He really cares about the health of his patients. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Ford is the Doctor you always want hen you are sick> He listens!!! After listening, he goes out of his way to provide a potential solution or makes a referral to a specialist if one is required. When I moved to San Antonio from Dallas in 2006, I continue to thank the doctor who recommended Dr. Ford.

Dr. Ford and his staff are the best. Courteous, thoughtful and helpful. I am grateful that they take care of me.
