NOPE
Having teeth removed by Dr. Grillon and having to interact with his staff was one of the most psychologically traumatizing and physically painful things I have experienced as a 47 year old. I'm a whole adult and I was in tears during the appointment. He comes at you and doesn't speak. If you aren't prepared for the way that he and his staff will treat you, you're going to be upset. At one point I put on my coat and his staff asked if I was leaving. This was before the teeth pull. That should have been the red flag. Then, as he started pulling the first tooth (still no conversation with me), I signaled that I was not yet numb, and he and the nurse both LAUGHED. And CONTINUED. I powered through and the 2 teeth were out. Then as I was leaving, I was handed a prescription for meds and I mentioned that I had an hour drive home and asked if they could please call in the prescriptions so that they would be ready when I arrived. 'We don't do that,' the nurse said.

Dr. Scissorhand.. If you don’t like pain, don’t go
With no polite greeting or concerns for me. I was stabbed with the needle, and as he stood above me .He clumsily and unevenly cut the top of my fibroma off with scissors.Lillian his office manager was very sweet, but he let her inform me that he would not provide any pain medication. I could take anything over the counter. It has been 4 weeks. I am still in pain. It is difficult to eat. I received no printed aftercare instructions. The fibroma is still there. He didn’t completely remove the whole fibroma..The entire procedure only took 10 minutes, maximum. This is the 1st dental procedure I’ve had without removing my dentures or wiping off my lip gloss. Lillian is sweet and kind. She treated me with sincere concern. But this “ surgeon “ made no verbal or visual contact with me. He has no chair side manners. When I spoke to my primary care provider, she did prescribe pain medication and she is very conservative about prescribing medication. Now I need to see another oral surgeon .

Excellent Practitioner
My husband saw Dr Grillon for a complex injury of his jaw and cystic invasion of his jawbone. From our first encounter with Lillian at the front office we felt comfortable. This comfort was enhanced by our meeting with Dr Grillon who identified the problems, outlined the suggested treatment, and subsequently performed the surgeries required. I cannot say enough good things about Dr Grillon and his staff! We highly recommend them!

Dr. Grillon is very knowledgeable and professional
He performed my orthogenetic double jaw surgery recently, and my bite, profile, aesthetic, and breathing is much improved due to Dr. Grillon’s skillful reconstructive facial surgery, which was performed at Howard University Hospital. His residents are highly trained and focused service providers too. I highly recommend Dr. Grillon.

I was seen by Oral Surgeon George Grillon Dr. came in the office very nonchalant ,sprayed a topical numbing then began stabbing wthe needle! switched was firmly told to sit still ! ( it was more of a stern voice ) he continued to numb stuck my tongue a few times .. During the actual procedure Dr. Grillon did not once ask me if I was okay or feeling an pain .. NOT ONCE. In fact as we have extracting my bottom right tooth he slipped the instrument scratched me ! HE DID NOT APOLOGIZE! he proceed to YANK (not exaggerating) the rest of my teeth out ! his method of practice!! Dr George Grillon neglected me after the procedure . He argued back about my complaints NEVER apologized . I post op appointment i was absolutely traumatized by the experience I don’t want to see him for after care. THE DOOR REMAINED OPEN THE ENT PROCEDURE! Im so frustratedtraumatized by DR GEORGE GRILLON cold demeanor evil practice I wnever recommend. This was an absolute nightmare in real life .

The only reason he even gets 1 Star is because there is no option not to select at least one. He and the office assistant are extremely rude and impersonal. He was very cavalier and robotic, was not concerned that I was in pain during the procedure, manhandled me, and then was physically and verbally agitated that I was in pain and started panicking because he freaked me out so bad. I left there traumatized and crying and I have a very high tolerance for pain. I am going to figure out how to make a more formal complaint. He should not be practicing anybody’s medicine. Plus he’s like 100 years old. I have never in all my years experienced such harsh treatment from a medical professional. I’m not even going back for my post surgery appointment. I’m going to call my dentist to see if he can evaluate me post op. If not, I’ll take my chances. I will never go there again!

I'm sad to see so many negative reviews here. Dr. Grillon performed orthognatic surgery on me in Nov 2018 for an open bite malloclussion and was absolutely phenomenal. While bedside manner is not the greatest...I can assure you, he really knows what he is doing. I would not have had anyone else operate on my face. I feel like not enough is said about the fact that he serves as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery where he directs the education of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residents from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center residents program. He also serves as Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring and Germantown and Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD. You do not get that far not being good at what you do!! I was seen in his Westminster office and I believe the receptionist is named Ty and she is amazing! Very friendly, comforting and competent.

I went to his office when I was 12 with my mom. He insisted on her not coming back into the room which made me uncomfortable because I’m a minor. Eventually she came back bc i was 12 And he started cursing at his employees about how she shouldn’t be there with me.

Visited doctor in Bethesda twice for scheduled appointments and made me wait 1 hour+ each time. I finally aborted my appointments and filed a complaint with JHU. Finally, doctor severally overbooks patients (4-8 in the lobby at a time). Avoid this dentist.

the rudest, most arrogant doctor that I have come across. He didn't ask me about my pain (which was severe), address or explain my scans, nor did he ask questions related to my condition. He simply explained what TMJ Disorder is and implied that I don't have it and walked out. the office explained the process of getting a mouth guard, then informed me that he is with another patient and will not prescribe anything for the pain. If there was a 0 star rating... that's what I would have given...

Terrible staff. Very snobby oral surgeon. So many issues. The staff rarely let me speak to the doctor over the phone when I had questions about the pain I was having. As a result of the pain, I developed dry socket. The surgeon could careless. He has no bedside manners. And, he seemed as if something was humorous to him while I'm crying in the chair. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy.

Absolutely phenomenal! Dr. Grillon treated me for a recurring condition several years ago and I had the most amazing care. He listened to me; he communicated with me; he answered my questions and asked me if I had any concerns about the procedure. Dr. Grillon took great care of the emotional and physical aspects of having surgery.

Got a referral from my dentist to make an appointment with this office. Upon calling, I've never been so rudley treated. Receptionist girl repeatedly hangs the phone up. Very nasty office facility. You run a risk of oral infections if treated there.

Dr. Was fast and competent, as was his assistant. his front office staff is a different story. Mixed up my insurance info, charging me for covered procedure and refusing to hear me out (i called my insurance and found out It WAS covered, after the office already made me pay) scheduling appointment without consulting me, rude manner and tone when talking to me. However, If you can get past the awful front desk staff and their deficiencies the doctor is perfectly capable at what he does.

This office has the rudest attendants. Lillian and Anna were very unprofessional. I was here 10 minutes after my appointment and they made me wait a total of 2 hours for a 5 min consultation!! They claimed they needed documents from my other dentist and even when they received it, they made me wait another hour!!
