Dr. Groves is quite forthright and serious-minded. If you are looking for someone to spend a long time listening to every life concern and providing therapy for that, you might want to check into one of those online apps where you can talk to a counselor as often as you like. He is very up to date on medications and current treatments. I enjoy visits with him. He is currently affiliated with Legacy Health in Beaumont, and they are working out the bugs in getting back to their patients and answering the phones. But things are improving.

My experience with Dr. Groves has been phenomenal. Within 2 months he has successful managed my bipolar disorder symptoms which I had lost all hope for prior after being treated for 2 years with minimal success. Before starting treatment per this doctor I was very anti medication because of the side effects and so on… now in treantment with Dr. Groves I finally have a sense of stability in my life and it is showing up in more ways than I had imagined. He is also treating my son which he has referred out for further testing to rule out certain disorders. He’s attentive and responds quickly if you call about side effects of medications. Also very diligent in making sure you are feeling well while taking the medications he prescribes. I can’t thank this Doctor enough.

I'm a little surprised at some of these reviews. Doctor Groves has treated my mother and as of a couple years ago myself and the experience has never been anything but positive. If I ever had questions he answered them with patience and professionalism even when I was dealing with psychotic symptoms he was never rude or dismissive. He seemed to genuinely care and I'm currently doing exceptionally well because of his insight. Doctor Groves, thank you for the service you have provided.

Horrible doctor, it was like he hated his job and his background was him coming from working at a mental ward, where he should have stayed. He gave terrible advice and just wrote me a prescription with only talking with me for a few minutes. The meds made me sick and I called to leave a message but it goes to a call center and no one calls you back for over 3 days. I definitely never went back and got another doctor which is wonderful. Do not see him and come out feeling worse mentally.

This was my second appointment with Dr. Groves. I decided to try to give him another chance, but I felt worse this second time. He ignored what I told him and proceeded to prescribe new medications to me without telling me any reason as to why I needed them. I worry he doesn't listen, and it seemed as if he just wanted me to be medicated on whatever. He doesn't listen and he can be rude sometimes. I wouldn't go again.

I have been a patient of Dr. Groves for several years. It came time for me to have my bi-annual check-up and my prescriptions were running out. I called to make an appointment and no one ever called me back. Dr. Groves' office does not answer the phone. You can only leave messages. I kept calling and even asked they have the courtesy to call me back and tell me they were not interested in my business if that was the case. I never received a call. I gave up after six weeks.

The office staff was rude, and Dr. Groves seemed to brush off my concerns, if not totally ignore what I was saying. For a first psychiatrist appointment, it was a very unpleasant experience.

While being with Dr. Groves for over 15 years, he has consistently proven himself to be primarily interested in selling his services & the pharmaceutical products he prescribes. He is more of a Pharmaceutical Salesman than a doctor. He labeled me bi-polar, but medicated me as if I was in a non-stop manic over most of those years. During his care, I gained 100 lbs. of excess body fat. He is terse (too brief in our visits) & seems rude, judgmental & condescending, but my husband forces me to go.

Horrible experience with the entire office. Any time you call you can not speak with someone, you have to leave a message and they may or may not call you back. The doctor will tell you that if we need to adjust anything to call in and speak with someone and he will let them know what to do. This is absolutely not possible! You can't speak to anyone and if you leave a message that it is urgent, the medication is not correct, they still do not call you back!

I like Dr. Groves as a physician and I have done well on my medication regimen and been stable for years. This is the only reason I have remained with this practice. The staff at this office is surly and impossible to deal with. You can never speak to a live person on the phone and when you do reach one they are extremely rude. If you have to cancel an appt with less than 24 hours notice or are one second late regardless of the reason you are charged $125 out of pocket. GO TO SOMEONE ELSE!
