That he really listened to me and my concerns. Since the last procedure did not help me, he is going to do another MRI to see what else maybe going on.

I am very pleased with the results!
I had carpal tunnel release surgery on each of my hands. Dr. Lien was recommended by my PCP and he was kind, professional and most importantly, my surgery was a success! His staff was also great and they were very friendly and helpful! I would not hesitate to go back to their office if I ever needed their services in the future.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST NEUROSURGEON PERIOD! :-)
Where do I start? :-) Every once in a while, you'll have the opportunity, that can only be described as HEAVEN SENT, to meet someone who is worthy of double honor and respect! :-) I have met, work with, and now a patient of just "that someone": DR. GEORGE LIEN (and the A+ staff of Neurosurgery Professionals) of THE HOWELL ALLEN CLINIC (Rutherford)! I have been given the opportunity and pleasure to have met, work alongside with, and become a patient of (just recently) one of this region's BEST NEUROSURGEONS, WHO IS DR. GEORGE LIEN! If you are in search of a Neurosurgeon that is an upstanding professional, has excellent work ethics, impeccable skill, and excellent bedside manner, search no further. Dr. Lien is all of this and more! He really cares about his patients, and is an excellent patient advocate (in clinic, and surgery) when given the opportunity to be your Healthcare Provider. Our group of Neurosurgery professionals are BAR NONE, the BEST OF THE BEST in the Southeast region! ;-)

Saw him for a second opinion after telling him the original surgeon didn't listen to us and his treatment was to go back to the original surgeon because "I don't know what he did." Medcation list had 9 medications that had been discontinued still listed as active including 2 pain meds (that I haven't taken in months since a tooth was pulled and I had a back surgery in August) and the rest were doubled up heart medications which obviously would be dangerous to take. I sat in the waiting room and filled out a current list which obviously they didn't check. I just wanted to see a doctor who would listen and help me find out why I still have pain and this was not the doctor to do that. His office staff was nice, however they did add a blood pressure to my chart that they didn't take. If you want a doctor to listen and attempt to help find the problem try someone else.

I had a ruptured disc that was compressing a nerve that ran through my leg to my big toe. I had a foot drop because of it which is weakness and numbness in my leg and foot. My pain was nearly unbearable and at 26 with two young kids I couldn’t live the way I was. My daily activities were severely impacted. I met with Dr. George Lien. He listened to me, answered all of my questions, and explained in detail what would happen if I decided with surgery. The pros outweighed the cons with my case for me personally so I opted for the surgery. It was a minimally invasive surgery. My scar is maybe 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch. I wouldn’t have been so on board with this had it not been for him and his nurse Emily. They are so sincere I can tell it’s more than a job for them and I can’t be thankful enough for that. I am pain free and almost 4 weeks post op. My kids finally see me smile again and no longer in pain. I would recommend Dr. Lien to anyone. He and his staff changed my life.

I have seen Dr Lien re my excruciating back pain.He has diagnosed me with “slipped disc” and recommended surgery. He was very detailed in explaining what the surgery would entail. I decided to see other Neurosurgeons for second opinion and was told exactly the same thing. My surgery was very successful and my pain is completely gone.I am extremely satisfied. His staff ,especially Nurse Emily was very nice, informative and kind.I highly recommend Dr Lien.

I have seen Dr. Lien for two issues over the last ten years for problems with my discs and pain. He is one of the best doctors I've ever had. He listens carefully, asks relevant diagnostic questions, answers my questions and addresses my concerns. I never feel rushed by him. If surgery is warranted, he recommends it. If he doesn't think it is necessary, he does not recommend it. After an office visit with Dr. Lien, I feel "listened to" and respected. I recommend him to anyone who has spinal issues.

Went to DR Lien’s office for a herniated disc. The fact that they could get me in quick with just an x Ray was the reason my DR sent me there. Well that should have been my first sign to go somewhere else. Because....they’ll make the appt. make you sit in the exam room and wait over an hour for the DR with NO apologies or acknowledgement that your even there. He does not throughly exam you and says I can’t do anything without an MRI..come back next week. Then the person who does the booking/scheduling is the rudest person ever. A total waste of my time by an unprofessional non caring staff.

My experience with Dr. Lien has been great thus far. He has great bedside manner and explains everything very thoroughly. Prior to my surgery, he spent over an hour with me, more than adequately answering all of my questions without pause (and I had some very technical questions after my own research) - this doctor knows his stuff. I felt very comfortable knowing he was going to be performing my surgery (ACDF C5-C6-C7). I would recommend him to anyone with cervical spine issues.

I recently had a laser spine procedure done by Dr. Lien and he was professional, polite and put me at ease before the surgery was done. He also was the only neurosurgeon I contacted after getting my MRI results who would see me in a timely manner. His staff was very professional and accessible and the whole experience was one that made me feel as if I had made the best choice possible in choosing a neurosurgeon for this procedure. I had a broken disc, ruptured disc & pinched nerve. All good now
