Ego issues
Dr. Maher almost cost my son his life! He refused to listen to me and address my concerns. I asked him to find a cause and diagnoses for my sons chronically low lymphocytes and he told me that sometimes children don't have a diagnoses and I need to accept that. He then discharged us from hem/onc after 8yrs of care and neutropenia that was resolved with GCSF. He told me lymphocytes weren't within his scope of practice (WHAT!?). We got a 2nd opinion and UNMC and their hem/onc had my son in transplant 3 months later with a diagnoses of SCID!!! MY SON WOULD NOT BE ALIVE HAD I LISTEN TO THIS MAN.
