Apparently there is an application process in order to become a new patient. 2 weeks after having surgery to remove my gallbladder, my family doctor retired. I am having complications from the surgery and need a new family doctor. The receptionist informed me he would have to approve my request. I received a return phone call saying he denied me as a new patient. No reason given. I feel this is a highly unprofessional way to behave.

Dr Vanweelden takes his time and listens to all my concerns. His office always returns my calls promptly and do their best to get me in ASAP if I feel the need to see him. He has referred me to other doctors for issues he feels they could take better care. He is down to earth and very likeable.

He has been my doctor for several years. Has been available any time I have needed him. Just recently I needed a special prescription and he had gone out of town for personal reasons and staff notified him of need. He from out of area personally called the drug store and had my script filled. Great doctor; I trust him completely. Great friend.
