Dr. George Vavilis, MD

Had a total thyroidectomy prior to my first visit, I had gained a good amount of weight regardless of diet, he dismissed the weight gain due to hypothyroidism and told me I was over eating and put diagnostic code for obese due to over consuming calories which is completely wrong. Second visit 6 months later he still had not obtained my records and was still uninformed about my history, dismissed the weight again even after I had obtained a dietician per his recommendation, stated he did not want to give me a high dose of synthroid because it “may cause heart palpitations” even though current dose was not working. I had messaged him post visit and never received a response, had bloodwork done and never received a follow up call and never adjusted medication. Horrible doctor who does not listen and states weight gain in from everything else in life not hypo . Would never recommend anyone to go to him. Stay away.

Dr. Vavilis is absolutely amazing and I recommend him to everyone. He has a little bit of a wait time but it's because his patients don't cancel cause he's so good.

Excellent- Dr Vavilis realised my previous physician was over medicating me. His diligence finally got me on the right track and my medication is perfect and I am no longer feeling ill from being over medicated

Very caring and professional. He literally solved my issues during my pregnancy pointing out possible thyroid disease. I stayed nauseous and very sick to find out my thyroid levels was abnormal. I'm forever grateful because many doctors couldn't figure out why I was fatigue, low energy and irregular heart bbeat but Dr vavillis ran many test and never gave up on me and caught the issue in time and I ended up having a awesome pregnancy...he prescribed me meds to control levels of thyroid and all turned out well.
