Dr. Burford is a blessing to our family. Without exception, he treats each of his patients with the highest quality of care. Dr. Burford listens intently to his patients with compassion and thoroughly understands the medical issues or problems a patient may be experiencing during the evaluation and subsequent diagnosis. All treatments and alternatives are carefully considered. All follow up appointments or office visits are scheduled promptly. Dr. Burford remains actively involved in all areas of our healthcare and well-being. Consistently, he demonstrates and ensures the highest quality of care and professionalism of medical practitioners. My family is treated by Dr. Burford, as he would treat his own family, with dignity and respect. Dr. Burford’s staff are polite, pleasant, caring and responsive. Dr. Burford has been my Primary Care Physician for more than 20 years. He's also the PCP for my wife. Dr. Burford is a quiet, mannerly local-grown gentleman who is highly respected not only locally, but is regularly listed among the top 150 physicians in the Jacksonville Metro Area. He asks questions and takes the time to LISTEN. My wife and I enjoy visits with him because we know they will be productive, and expertly executed. It's also enjoyable because he has a team of Physicians Assistants and Medical Assistants who have worked with him for more than a decade. They know him, and they know his patients. The most telling indicator of Dr. Burford's competence and attitude is demonstrated by the fact that the University of Florida Medical School regularly sends medical students to spend weeks with him during their medical education. Dr. Burford asks if it's OK to bring the student in, and I've learned some by just listening to the discussion between Doc & Student.

I was referred to this Doctor by my endocrinologist. I called the office to setup an appointment. The Millienum Group, staff told me that before he can see me, I have to fill out a survey before I can be seen. WHAT ARE THEY DOING, PICKING AND CHOOSING WHO THEY WISH TO SEE?? They would not mail it, they want YOU to go to their office and pick it up and mail it back. This is pretty bad service.

Dr. Burford has been my primary care physician for over 25 years. He always takes time to listen so he can pinpoint the problem and find the best solution. He sets a patient-centered tone for his office and his staff is always friendly and helpful. I don't mind waiting for him because I know he is spending time listening closely to someone else. A good doctor and a fine man all around!

Dr Burford is the worst doctor I’ve encountered in my life; he’s a plodder, works slowly, doesn’t like to listen, and loves the sound of his own voice. He’s probably okay as a primary care physician if you don’t have any health issues, but if you’re encountering problems, he’s not for you. Need a referral (some specialists insist on them and some insurances require them)? You’ll wait for a month or more... my current doctor processes them in a day or two. I’ve also gone in for a visit with Burford, have him tell me to come back in three months, only to have his staff tell me that he’s booked out for four and a half months, and that’s the earliest I can be seen (!!). No apologies. He doesn’t want to hear from you, so don’t tell him about your concerns. Much of what passes for the practice of medicine on the island is passable at best, but this is the worst.

I just started going to Dr. Burford and was in agreement with the other 5 star reviews. He was very patient and meticulous. I look forward to more visits in the future with him as my doctor! The only thing I can say negative is that he may be too hard working and have too many patients, so it is more difficult to see him quickly.
