Because sometimes the truth hurts, have lost 65+ pounds, am not on blood pressure medicine and there is no diabetes. An infected wound can’t heal until the infection is totally removed. I got a truth wake-up lecture and took it to heart. Originally, I bristled. However, after a few tears, I understood the reasoning. I had always been told it was not fault. I listened to the truth. If it was my fault, then I had the power to fix it. Put myself in his shoes. Spend years in school; watch patients eat or smoke themselves to death; watch suffering from behaviors that could be stop; and the frustration of cancerous lung removal surgery only to know that the patient still smokes. It was my choice. I put the extra slices of pizza in my mouth; stopper for custard on my way home; and snacked all day. Truth that day was not pleasant, but your family will thank him. Today I am a 70 a college grad, don't look a day over 57 and have wonderful life. The choice is ours.

Gerald Cerniak (I refuse to use 'doctor', because a doctor doesn't weight shame their patients) doesn't deserve to have his medical license, or to practice medicine, because he stereotypes black people. He also told a black woman patient of his the reason why black people are sick is due to their poor diets (that's a stereotype), and that black people need to listen to police so they 'won't get shot'. I don't know who he thinks he is, but if that's how he feels about his black and brown patients, then he doesn't need to be in that line of work.

He told me that "you people" (I'm Black) eat all the worst foods and so that's why we're obese, have heart conditions and diabetes. Then he went on a tangent about how we don't listen to the police and that's why we're being killed. Said that he's been stopped several times and has never even been to jail. It was a horrible, racist rant. I was almost in tears. He's always been rude. But he went to abusive this time.

Awful. I just bought a house in villa park and haven’t chosen a new pcp from my new insurance (moved for new job). So, I went to urgent care after being sick for five days, and missing three days of work. Can’t remember ever being treated so disrespectfully. Came in with flu, cold, and/or sinus infection symptoms. After admitting to the doc that I smoke he said well no wonder you have an infection and proceeded to lecture and shame me. Never did an exam, didn’t touch me at all, didn’t look at my ears (even tho I said I had ear pain), didn’t take my temperature or ask me when my symptoms started, progressed, or the extent of my pain. With all the flu going around it’s hard to understand this behavior in a trained professional (who is close to 80 years old). Just left after that, but the doc continued to yell at me as I walked out saying that maybe I should quit smoking so I don’t have to come in there again.

I was seen by Dr. Cerniak at Doctors Immediate care in Naperville. After explaining to him my symptoms, he advised me there was nothing he could do and referred me to a specialist. Two months later, I received a bill in the mail for services I did not receive. I was charged nearly $500 for him to tell me he can't help me. Fraudulent charges are being investigated by the fraudulent department through the insurance.

This so called doctor works at Doctors Immediate Care in Naperville, IL. All he wanted was my money and didn't want to help my condition. He yelled at me for 15-20 minutes stating that he was just a regular doctor and wrote down on a paper towel what kind of specialists I needed to see. Why did he have me make a second appointment?
