Dr. Gerard Federico, DO

I’ve been seeing Dr. F for a couple of years now, both annual exams and office visits for the unusual. As a younger patient, I feel like I’ve been sometimes dismissed by other providers just due to my age and being “healthy” on paper. I’ve never felt that way with Dr. Federico.He has always been kind, compassionate, listens, and acts on my concerns - ordering testing or offering his recommendations on seeking Specialists opinions. Sometimes it’s nothing! Sometimes it’s been something! I’m grateful he’s worked with me to always figure it out.Dr. F has even reached out to me via the Physician chat when he’s received my patient records from elsewhere to follow up on other Specialist visits. I’ve never had a Doctor do that before. He genuinely cares and I’m happy to call him my PCP.

Dr Federico feels like he is reasonably concerned and decently competent. However, his support staff are arrogant and blatantly uncaring. When I recently had Covid, I called the doctor’s office to see if he would prescribe me any medication and was directed to the SCL Health app where I was assured that he would take care of my concern faster. I downloaded the app and waited for the activation code, which never came. I called back the next day and because the only option on the call menu that resulted in speaking with a human was the line reserved for doctors and physicians, I ended up making that selection and explaining my situation. At this point, all I wanted was my activation code. The woman who answered immediately got an attitude and seemed blissfully unbothered that she was making the affliction of Covid on a patient with heart and lung complications who recently had a pacemaker so much more stressful. She blocked my number and I had to end up going into the office w/Covid

He doesn't listen to what I have to say and doesn't explain anything.

Dr Federico is the best Doc I've had in quite a while. He listens to me, helps me make good decisions and treats me with respect and kindness. My health has improved significantly under his care.

He's awful. Not only is he a jerk of a person, but did not provide appropriate (or any, really) care for the condition I presented with - which was previously diagnosed and easy to confirm. Go anywhere else to receive better, more compassionate medical care.

Very caring and compasionate doctor. Explains exverything thoroughly. Highly recommend

Dr. Federico is a great physician with a very caring bed side manner. He's probably the most balanced and empathetic Doctor I've experienced in years.

This is the most callous cold hearted doctor un town. Expect no human empathy.

Dr Federico was sincerely interested in my health and very proactive about ordering the appropriate tests to determine potential root causes. I would highly recommend Dr Federico.

Dr. Federico has been my primary care physician for almost 9 years. He is professional in every way. He recently moved to Bel Mar; and, even though it is a longer drive for me, I will be keeping him as my primary.
