My name is Dale Hedrick, I knew Dr Zanolli back in 1994 at KU medical hospital, I was there for 3 months I was scared of psychiatrist I had OCD and I didn't want any medicine because I didn't think I needed it . I really like him he was the first psychiatrist that I thought of as a friend. And I always remember him. I wish you the best and I'm glad that he's doing well from what I can tell. I recommend him highly.

Avoid this one if you have trauma
Telehealth
The 1st visit he kept saying he 'didn't have time' to listen to me, yet he had time to ask why I looked different from my picture in my chart. 'when did you cut your hair? Why did you shave the sides?' I have long hair in my profile picture. He also was merciless asking questions about my trauma. He wanted specific details. I kept asking 'Is this necessary?' I was just there for a refill of my drug for nightmares. The second visit was a video visit and he was mad at me that my sound wasn't working. He phoned and kept telling me to check my settings. I said, 'this seems to be working ok, lets just do it this way on the phone.'The third visit was the last. I have severe anxiety and I laugh when I'm nervous. My therapist suggested a low dose of an SSRI. I was very nervous asking. I was laughing. He said I had BP II hypomania and wanted to put me on lithium instead. He refused to consult with my therapist. A psych I saw a few days later said his BP hypomania diagnosis was ridiculous.

See someone else. Avoid this one.
Things were okay at first, but once I explained to him my history of traumatic abuse and being the victim of diagnosed Munchausen by proxy syndrome in which the state removed me from the home, he seemed to get withstanding and skeptical, then when I told him I had gone to an inpatient trauma facility in Mississippi for a higher level of care after being sexually victimized and a subsequent suicide attempt last august, he then got entirely dismissive of me. From those concessions on, he refused to listen to anything I said, citing that he was on a time crunch. He became abusive and condescending, attacking my education, even yelling at me when I did not oblige his dictations and he upped my seizure medication citing bipolar disorder when my diagnosis is of PTSD and depression, refusing to up my actual medication for that. He told me after two 20-minute virtual appointments that the extensive psychological testing I had done was not definitive because he wasn't there for it. I fired him.
