Dr. Gilbert Abou-Lahoud, MD

Dr. Abdou-Lahoud is an outstanding doctor. I have had multiple abdominal surgeries, and was fortunate to have him as a hospital ER doctor, when I went into the emergency room. After so many emergency visits, I am now at the point where it is recommended that I have elective open abdominal surgery, as the intestines are intertwined. I pray that I can now schedule this procedure with Dr. Lahoud.

Dr Abou Lahoud performed a left inguinal hernia repair to a faulty repair when I was 2 years old. He did it laparoscopically and did a fantastic job, I have had 4 hernias in my adult life and by far Dr Lahoud did the best job. I did not need any pain meds at all. I would highly recommend Dr Lahoud as a surgeon !

After an ER visit it had been determined I had gallbladder issues. Upon recommendation I selected Dr Abou-Lahoud, an absolute wonderful decision for me. He recommended an endoscopy, which ended up showing I had an additional issue with an umbilical cord hernia, which I had no idea existed. We decided that the gallbladder needed to be removed and the hernia repaired. I had a surgeon who shared his expertise, answered all my questions and concerns, went the extra mile to make sure all was addressed, was professional and I felt like I was the only patient. His office staff were always helpful and pleasant. The staff in the Operation room were awesome. I would highly recommend Dr Abou-Lahoud to anyone looking for a Gastrointestinal Surgeon. All went well with the surgery and recovery. Thank you Dr Abou-Lahoud for keeping me healthy and strong.

Dr. Gilbert Abou-Lahoud was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. He explained the procedure very well, met with me before surgery and followed up post op. I recovered a lot faster then I expected and attribute that to his excellent work.

I had hiatal hernia surgery on July 29 2021. I couldn't be more pleased with the doctor and staff. Dr. Abou-Lahound explained everything to me about my surgery and even drew a picture to explain the procedure. I was not rushed and all of my questions were answered . The wait time was not long. The procedure went went well and I am doing very good. I would highly recommend Dr. Abou-Lahound.

Had emergency open abdominal surgery in Sept of 2020. I did not allow myself to heal completely before I started to do too much too soon and caused an INCISIONAL HERNIA in January of 2021. When I first saw Dr. Abou-Lahoud, I was informed that medical advice is to wait at least 8-12 months of healing from previous surgery before takin care of the new problem. In May, Dr. Gilbert Abou-Lahoud scheduled ROBOTIC repair for the end of June 2021. Absolutely amazing procedure, going home the same day. Terrific pre-surgery evaluation, amazing surgical results, and terrific post-op follow-up. The office staff has been most helpful and courteous every time I have called or been there. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Gilbert Abou-Lahoud and Surgical Healing Arts Center in Ft. Myers, Fl, I am very thankful for his care, his guidance and advice from beginning to end.

I had an emergency appendectomy at Lee Health Systems - Gulfcoast. Dr. Gilbert Abou-Lahoud gave me a brief and yet very thorough explanation of the procedure he was about to perform. Very succinct, very knowledgeable and very personable but very professional! His calm informative manner put me at ease. After surgery, he came to my room and again was so patient to chat and assure me of all that had occurred and the mending process, etc. He was not in a hurry and took time to address my concerns. As a patient, I did have a post-op visit to his office. That too receives high kudos -- I am most convinced what a fine surgeon, physician and overall genuine person Dr. Abou-Lahoud is!!! He loves and takes pride in his work and is extremely conscientious of his surgical skills. I consider myself blessed to have had him appear to my rescue with his surgical abilities!!!!!

Dr. Lahoud treated me for appendicitis and removed my appendix. He is a wonderful surgeon! I recommend him highly!

On September 11, 2020, Dr. Gilbert Abou-Lahoud performed emergency surgery on me, a 74-year old woman, to correct a small bowel obstruction. Specifically he performed an exploratory laparotomy, a small bowel resection with mesenteric closure, and an appendectomy. He did an excellent job and saved my life. I will forever be grateful. Several months later, I am still doing fine.

Dr. Abou-Lahoud was my husband’s surgeon for stage 3C colon cancer. His exceptional surgical skills undoubtedly saved my husband’s life and that would be enough for most medical professionals but he has without a doubt the most integrity and compassion I would ever hope to encounter in the medical field or as a human being. I trusted him with my husband’s life and would undoubtedly trust him with my own.

Referred to general surgeon for gallbladder removal. Found Dr. Lahoud via client reviews. He was very communicative and kind. He performed surgery and I experienced minimal discomfort. All is healing well. Great doctor.

Dr. Gilbert Abou-Lahoud recently removed my Gallbladder and also performed a Hernia repair. He was very thorough and I felt very comfortable with his approach. The scheduling of pre and post ops exams was very easy and performed in a friendly and timely manner by the Doctor and Office staff.

Excellent surgeon! Dr Abou-Lahoud operated me hiatal hernia, (robotic surgery) I was pain free, didn’t even take the prescription pain meds. Walk out of the hospital the next day Pain free surgery! Excellent result Dr Abou-Lahoud explained in detail everything I hope I don’t need a surgeon but if I do Dr Abou-Lahoudis the Dr. I am grateful... I Btw, I love Tele health!

Dr. Abou Lahoud is a caring and competent physician who visited me in my room to explain the operation and again in the ready room just before the job. He also visited me after the operation and is an easy guy to like. I am doing fine now and would recommend him highly to anyone needing a good surgeon.
