Mr Whalen performed my total thyroidectomey for thyroid cancer in 2014. He was not careful and removed parathyroid glands that were not supposed to be removed. Instead of being responsible for his actions he told no one and I ended up spending 114 days in the hospital because the lack of parathyroid hormone caused a rare disease called hypopara, which causes calcium levels to crash and throws me into seizures. Not recommended for thyroid surgery!!! Find someone else, anyone else!

Dr. Whalen is a great Doctor who takes the time to answer all your questions thourougly.I recently had surgery for a thyroidectomy.He did a wonderful job.it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.His bedside manner is impeccable.Also his staff is very nice as well.Rebecca his nurse practitioner is very knowledgeable and nice.I would recommend Dr.whalen to anyone as he does numerous other surgeries as well.Don't hesitate to call if your looking for the best of the best.

After an anterior posterior lumbar fusion I have been having abdominal complications. I made several appointments with Dr. Whalen to try and find the problems and find solutions for these issues, however the Dr does not seem to know what is wrong and is not offering any solutions. What the Dr. did was to tell me to go see the pain clinic and maybe they can find out whats wrong. This is not what you expect to hear after major surgery.
