Thanks Dr. G!
Dr. Massolgia and her staff were excellent. I was able to get an evaluation appointment with her quickly and the procedure completed with excellent results. Very thorough in explanation and what to expect. Highly recommend.

First time under the knife was a breeze
Dr. Massoglia has an excellent bedside manner. Her patience answering all of my questions was impressive. Her staff was also highly responsive and helpful before and well after my procedure.

Skilled Surgeon With Excellent Office Staff
Dr. Gina Massoglia did laparoscopic surgery to repair my inguinal hernia in January 2023. I recommend her without reservation. When she confirmed the diagnosis and described her plan for the repair she was direct and clear. She listened and responded to my questions and concerns. During surgical prep in the hospital, she was equally clear and equally open to my questions. The incisions she made were small and even one day after surgery they gave me no pain and only slight discomfort. Dr. Massoglia was recommended to me as an expert is this surgical procedure and my experience with her certainly confirmed that. An added bonus was the cheerful competence of the staff at her practice, Chesapeake Surgical Associates. They were very easy to work with and readily answered my questions about insurance and scheduling.

Went in do discuss possible hernia. Her exam was thorough and found the hernia. Discussion followed about how large the hernia was and best way to treat or manage it. Dr. Massoglia was warm and concerned for my welfare. I would recommend her highly.

If i could give 0 stars, I would. She is the worst surgeon and she should not be practicing. She KNEW the pain would be too much on my forehead but yet didn't care to enlighten me. While doing the surgery which was worst pain than any pain I've ever had, I said I wish I'd never had it done and she said "well, it's too late now". There are no words. I had the surgery in December 2020 and today it's August 13, 2021 and my forehead is still numb and my eyebrow is sagging. So disappointed that a doctor like this is practicing. I also wish I would've read the other reviews before going to her.

Dr. Massolgia and her staff were a ray of sunshine in a sea of darkness. I was able to see her within two weeks which was important since we needed to get on top of my disease as quickly as possible. Her knowledge of my illness and her willingness to guide me through the process was a blessing. Dr. Massoglia is a 10 out of 10!

I was happy with Dr. Massoglia's performance as a surgeon and I felt comfortable talking to her about my condition. She also explained the procedure and recovery very well to me. I also took the time to research the surgery and what recovery would be like on my own. However, I am very disappointed in the fact that she and the surgery center allowed another surgeon to be present who wasn't precertified by my health insurance, Cigna. Since the surgery, I have been getting statements from that surgeon to cover his fee because Cigna won't cover his fee since he wasn't precertified by the surgery center. This is something I'm sure Dr. Massoglia and the surgery center were aware of and knew would need to be done but they didn't take the time to do it. So, I am left dealing with Cigna and trying to figure out how to get it to pay the second surgeon's fee. This all could have been handled much better by Dr. Massoglia's staff.

I am disappointed with my experience with Dr. Massoglia. I was not well informed of what to expect after having surgery and that the pain would last for weeks. I went for a follow up, which Dr. Massoglia was kind enough to squeeze me in between appts, which was to get the incision area drained. Knowing how painful the area already was she squeezed and pushed very hard brining me to tears and it was all for nothing because it was a blood clot that had not yet liquified yet according to her. I had no idea I would be left with a sharp pain for days after and an indent where the needle was put in. If I had to do it all over I wouldn’t. To make matters worst, her office sent a surprise bill that was not what we agreed to for a self pay.

I am absolutely happy I decided to have Dr. Massoglia perform my hernia surgery. I found her to have an incredibly awesome balance in being personal - with a friendly bedside manner, and clinical - in providing expert instructions and answers. I had my surgery at the Riva Road Surgical Center in Annapolis, MD. I found the surgical experience there to be so much more welcoming and friendlier than a typical hospital environment. I would highly recommend Dr. Massoglia for your surgical needs!

I will never come here again. Worst doctor experience I’ve ever had. The staff was great, the surgeon was not. She had a judgmental attitude and didn’t numb me completely before cutting into my skin. I was literally screaming on the table. She told me I was being dramatic... A DOCTOR TOLD THEIR PATIENT THAT THEY ARE BEING DRAMATIC. I was in the worst pain I’ve ever been in in my entire life and she did not add more numbing or give me pain meds. Also waited over an hour to be seen. Awful.

Dr. Massoglia was the consummate professional in dealing with my hernia. She agreed to see me on a relatively short fuse. The office examination was quick, and her findings agreed 100% with the findings of a doctor I had seen in Florida. The appointment for the operation was within a month of the initial exam, and was at my convenience. The staff is all very friendly and easy to communicate with and to talk to; even when it comes to "private" concerns. My recovery was quick. Very happy.
