Dr Havens is the most knowledgeable Psychiatrist I have ever met. He not only is great at identifying a psychiatric issue, he knows how each medication works in the brain, and prescribes the best option for each individual. Our family is very thankful to have had his expert care through the years.

Dr. Havens is the best in the field. He diagnosed and treated me with the utmost professionalism and care. He saved my life. I highly recommend him to anyone who truly wants to get better. He does not require me to come in for a visit every time in order to refill my prescriptions; instead I must come in every 3 months. I think that's reasonable. I live 75 miles from the office, and it's absolutely worth it.

I will rarely leave a negative review but feel I should warn. You have to make an appointment EVERY time to renew a prescription. I travel for work, we do them by phone - $145 for 25 minutes. He was 1.5 hours late and only spent 13 minutes with me & renewed ONE prescription. When I called in to renew, I was told to make another appointment. This was never expressed in our first meeting and have never heard of a doctor doing this EVER. He is interested in one thing, getting rich, not treatment.

Dr. Havens prescribed Ativan for me. I called shortly after taking it indicating I was having a bad reaction. He nor his office returned my call. When I met with him to express my concerns and side effects, he said the dosage level was not possible to adversely impact me. I took it for over two months before I decided to take myself off of it. It was very difficult to taper off and has taken over three months to heal from the adverse reaction. Disappointed by inappropriate care.

Unlike my previous doctors, Dr. Havens found the right combination of medications to effectively treat my condition. He doesn't tell me what I want to hear -- He tells it like it is. I need that. Dr. Havens' staff has accommodated me on numerous occasions when I needed to see him right away. They've never missed a beat calling in prescriptions. I highly recommend this psychiatrist to anyone who is serious about getting better.
