Dr. Gloria Lunghar, MD

I've been seeing Dr. Lunghar as my PCP for a few years now and have had very positive experiences. Her communication style is definitely concise, to the point, and at times hurried, but any time I've brought up an issue she asks many follow-up questions and provides a detailed opinion for the best course of action. I can understand where some people might not like this style, and it can make it feel a bit difficult to bring up that third or fourth nagging issue that you've been thinking about, but on the whole I feel well cared-for and unlike previous doctors I've had I've never felt like Dr. Lunghar was dismissive of a concern. Overall, I certainly recommend her as a PCP for anybody who is looking.

Had the most unprofessional experience with Dr. Lunghar -- I made a same-day appointment with her office, as I was having some issues I wanted to talk to a doctor about. I probably talked to three different people at her office for confirming my appointment, confirming they were covered by my insurance, signing in, etc. I got to the office, signed in, and the nurse took me back. When I told the nurse that I was not looking for a new PCP, just a one time visit, she went "Oh." and went over to the next room to discuss this with the doctor (I could even hear them chatting). Dr. Lunghar then refused to see me -- the nurse said she would only take visits with people who wanted her as their PCP. Mind you, no one had given me any indication of this up until this point, or even asked! Despite the fact that the Doctor was there to see me and I was the ONLY patient in the office, she would not honor my appointment or even apologize/explain to my face. It was honestly a humiliating experience.

She was rude,inappropriate,unaware that she was listed as a doctor that was accepting new pt's,was late& was rushing me to get out of the er as this was her office.she didnt have a office outside of the er.i wouldn't recommend her at all.hospital should fire her& if not precepted again as she was short w/me,never let me finish a sentence,judgemental,& so rude demeaning & spoke with a tone that was threatening.worst doctor I've ever seen in my life.

Since my first visit with Dr Lunghar It seemed she did not believe anything I said to her about prior health issues. With excruciating pain and after a MRI with herniated L4 and L5 she was skeptical to give me medication to help with the pain. On July 18th I had surgery with complications and moved down to Wareham where I transport to BMC and she made it extremely difficult to get her to help me when it came time to write orders for transport and for a MRI with contrast. I am changing my PCP
