Dr. Hutchinson saved my life. When faced with a strange set of symptoms and 50 doctors and residents at Yale New Haven Hospital who couldn't diagnose me, it was Dr. Hutchinson who figured out what was wrong. I see that others are upset that you sometimes wait in his office; this is true about waits at times. However, this happens (in my experience) because he's listening to every word you say, finding the best solution for your symptoms, and treating you as an individual. Book early in the day!

Initial appointment as a new patient with Dr. Hutchinson scheduled two months in advance for 11:00 AM. Arrived on time with paperwork completed. At 11:44 was told there were still two patients ahead of me and the wait for Dr. Hutchinson was often one and one half hours. Upon checking with front desk at 12:20, was told Dr. Hutchinson's staff estimated an ADDITIONAL 1 hour wait, for a total of 2 hours and twenty minutes beyond scheduled appointment. Unwilling to wait, I departed very stressed.

What could be improved
  • Difficult to schedule appointment
  • Didn't listen or answer questions
  • Didn't explain conditions well
  • Appointment was rushed

I'm an established patient, seen this MD many times although had not seen this MD in two years. When last seen he had told me if I ever needed a cortisone shot to simply call and he would give me one. Well, today I called, was told since I had not seen him in two years that I was considered a new patient and he had NO appointments available and that if I have pain I should go to a walk in clinic or my primary MD. Yikes!!
