Does not listen, rushed appointment, he ran 40 mins late, talked to his PA more than him every time (yes I went more than once, but no longer will). I'm in a lot of pain and after 2 months of fighting with them to do their jobs and MANY mistakes that they made (staff included) have now found another doctor. I don't trust him.

Dr. Carlson got me got me out of a wheelchair, after a car accident. That was 10 years ago and I do not require pain medicine. Despite having both my neck and lower back fused, I live a very active life, including, teaching PE. Please remember that when you undergo a medical procedure, you must do your part to promote proper healing, by following the doctor's instructions. It is a partnership of sorts. I followed his instructions to the letter and continue to do so, with miraculous results. I can never thank him enough. Annette G.

Get a neurologist and 2nd opinion. My lumbar fusion resulted in 3 additional repairs and 2 spinal leaks. He finally figured out I needed pelvic support another surgery as a obtained a sacral fracture after 1st surgery. I am disabled now divorced and had two breakdowns. My neighbor also had him do lumbar fusion and is in a nursing home at 62 yrs requires 24/7 care. Tragic!

Not so good. On the 1st visit, he would not listen to us trying to describe my wife's systems. He operated on my wife's spine 3 years ago and all seemed well except that my wife had pain that would not go away. After trying various pain medication which did not help, she had an MRI done that showed a cracked vertibra above the support rod. after many visits with no change he said come back in 3 months we will look at it then. After 2 & 1/2 months we received a call from Dr Carlsons office sta

I can't say enough great things about my experience at Restore Orthopedics. After living with lower back pain for over 10 years I went to Dr. Carlson for a 2nd opinion about surgery. He recommended a L-5/S1 fusion. Knowing that I was active and wanted to stay active he explained the surgery plan and I decided to have it done. In late July 2016, I had the surgery. The recovery was very quick, I was walking unaided the next day and by December I was snowboarding. Still pain-free 1.5 yrs later.

Office was professional and efficient. I especially like how structured the office is handled. Dr. Carlson listens intently and can repeat word for word what you have told him. I was amazed by his professionalism and expertise in his field. They downloaded the CD I brought with me and the pictures were up on the screen. The Dr. went through all the pictures and explained everything to me. I was impressed that all services needed are in the same office.

I had a 9:30 AM appointment with Dr Carlson as a new patient today. At 11:10 AM I saw the doctor shooting the breeze with some pharmaceutical reps in front of the treatment rooms. At 11:15 he walked into another patient's treatment room. His staff was clueless as to when I may be seen by him. I gave up and left his office. Learn from my misfortune! ...Andrew

Dr. Carlson gave my wife her life back. After 3 failed back surgeries, Dr. Carlson performed the 4th. She has been out of surgery a few weeks now but from the very beginning, we could see that this surgery was different. She was walking on the 2nd and 3rd day. Something she never did with her prior back surgeries. Not only is Dr. Carlson an amazing surgeon, his staff is just as amazing. They are so detail oriented and you just know they are true professionals. Thank you Dr. Carlson!

I was completely satisfied with my treatment. Dr. Carlson has the best sense of what you are in need of, giving support and instruction that is needed. I have already recommended two of my friends! I am so sorry that he no longer takes HMO patients - I now have to find a new surgeon and I know nobody can compare.

Dr. Carlson is an excellent surgeon. I came to him after a sudden onset of symptoms caused by a severe lumbar disc herniation. He has excellent bedside manner. He saw me the same week for the microdisectomy. I came to the hospital wheeled by a wheelchair. Immediately after the sx, I was able to walk without pain. The recovery process is very smooth.
