I recently had my first visit with Dr. Cooper. He was very attentive and showed genuine care about what I spoke with him about. He was very thorough. He communicates very well. Never spoke down to me or technically over my head. Always spoke in a relatable manner. After discussing the reason for seeing him, he ordered some tests. Upon receiving the results of the tests he was quick in responding and deciding what our next course of action would be and promptly relayed the information to me. I am very pleased with his bedside manner and attentiveness. I highly recommend Dr. Cooper.

I would not recommend this doctor to a single sole. This man made me feel like I was wrong for coming into his office ( it was a follow up) talked down to me, he was harsh, dismissed my symptoms, and sent me home with 3 prescriptions for medicines I didn’t need. I have ICP and he told me all I was experiencing was migraines. When my Neurosurgeon contacted him to ask why he prescribed me with what he had, he failed to return his call. I love and trust UVA but save the time and do not see Cooper.

One of the worst doctors I've ever had. Would barely give me eye contact,I would tell him about New migraine symptoms and he was very dismissive,he would continue to pump me with drugs but never considered MRI's or CAT scans nor an alternative to treatment for my migraines. I felt as if because of my race, creed or insurance was the reason he wasn't attentive in my treatment. He had a very nonchalant attitude towards my migraines and that's not how I want to be treated when I see a SPECIALIST.
