Autistic Girl with Seizures
Dr Mathews is an awesome Doctor that cares about each of his patients. He gives my daughter individualized attention and is always responsive within an hour to any concerns my daughter may be dealing with. He gives good advice and makes us always feel comfortable about any situation. My daughter’s seizures are not gone but are controlled. We appreciate you Dr Mathews!! The Garrett Family

Exceptional care
My experience with Dr. Mathews was remarkable. Never in my time in any clinical setting have I felt more assured. He was able to provide the right balance of clinical expertise, compassion, and humor. He respected the self-study I invested time in rather than discount it and he treated me like I had true agency in any decisions. Absolutely one of the most memorable and affirming care experiences I've had. Highly recommend and worth the wait for an appointment.

Communicates!
I initially met Dr. Mathews after I had been admitted to the hospital with my first-ever seizure. I was so impressed with his willingness to sit down and talk to me, that I asked him to take over my care! I feel like he has worked WITH me these last five months to find a medication that will work FOR me. It was a scary time, but he has given me the information AND confidence to get through. Highly recommended!

Dr. Mathews is patient! He makes me laugh after I have a seizure in front of him. I was an Neurodiagnostic Tech. in the 80’s and 90’s. His Neurodiagnostic Tech is fantastic, too! Dr. Mathews is super! When admitted to hospitals he is patient with hospital and rehab staff, too. He really cares for his patients!

Dr. Mathews is exceptionally compassionate and communicates incredibly well. He understands the need for treatment without a long wait, and doesn't rush through appointments. He's excellent at translating medical knowledge so his patients can understand it, and is sensitive to the whole person, not just the problem that brought them to him. The office staff is also welcoming, highly responsive and respectful.

Dr Mathews is the best doctor our family has ever seen. My daughter has epilepsy and another rare type of optic nerve damage, and dr. Mathews has always reached out to others doctors caring for my daughter to help figure out the causes. His genuine caring is unique in this field and we are so grateful for his support!

Dr Mathews is friendly and easy to communicate with. He is very knowledgeable and takes time to talk to patients about their problems. I have a number of good physicians that provide medical services to me and Dr. Mathews is one of the very best.

Dr. Mathews has been helping my elderly mother with seizures for the last couple of years. He has always been fantastic. He takes the time to talk to you -- not rush you -- listens and earnestly tries to properly evaluate the issues at hand. He is compassionate and caring. Available to talk if there's an emergency, too. I wish this man was a general practitioner and I could see him for everything. I wish all doctors were like Dr. Mathews. I am very thankful for finding him.

I have had various neurologists for the past 30 years. No neurologist, but Dr. Mathews, has been as professional, knowledgeable compassionate and accessible via the portal or in scheuling appointments like him. He has spent his time generouslyt to discuss what my options are and to explain his recommendations clearly. He is truly a gifted doctor.
