I have a long history with Dr. Scagnelli. He treated me as a child and now treats 2 of my children. He is great. My son has a chronic disease and goes to him every 6 weeks. My son LOVES him. He does his own blood work, calls with results. He even came to the hospital on his day off to start my sons infusion IV. We sought a second opinion in Syracuse and it was miserable up there. My son did not like the doctor and I felt like we were just another number there. I’m glad we made the decision to stick with Dr. Scagnelli. I would highly recommend him!

I suffer from severe chronic stomach issues, and after having visits with Dr. Skagnelli I often felt like I was 'faking it' (an unfortunately common theme with doctors and teenage girls such as myself). Overall, he didn't answer many of my questions in a meaningful way when I did see him, and every conversation we had held a feeling of being extremely condescending or rushed. I would rate 0 stars if I could, because a doctor of bare minimum quality should be willing to listen to a patient's symptoms and questions in a non-arrogant way. I'm a very chill cucumber, not much bothers me and I'm really not being a Karen here. Discounting my struggles as a patient has really gotten to my head, and it's hard to help myself get better if he's helping my own brain to believe I'm faking it too.

I have been taking my son to see Dr S for almost 8 years. Although Dr S is well-educated and seems to know what he's doing he has absolutely no bedside manner, patients, empathy or compassion and is rude, rushing and seems annoyed with our presents and has yelled at us both on several occasions. My child has begged me for the last time to never go again after having to deal with yet another one of Dr S tempertantrums bc of my son being frightened. We are just a # and paycheck to him no more

I never leave reviews, but felt I had to this time. I would NEVER recommend Dr. Scagnelli to anyone. He was impatient, dismissive, and was not at all interested in working with us to find out what is going on with our child. No diagnosis, no follow-up, no dietary suggestions, no nothing. We are in exactly the same place we were in 6 weeks ago and our child feels worse. We will be going out of town for a second opinion.

I almost did not take my child to Dr. Scagnelli, based on some negative reviews. The head of Pediatrics at my hospital spoke very highly of Dr. Scagnelli's competence, thoroughness and speed in scheduling urgent appointments. I am very happy that I ignored the negative reviews. Dr. Scagnelli was thorough; scheduled our appointment and necessary scopes with no delay whatsoever; and was kind to my daughter. He took the time to explain everything himself and answered our myriad of questions.

Dr.Scagnelli is rude, angry, and unwilling to listen. He diagnosed my daughter with IBS after a 5 min exam, without ordering any tests, other than bloodwork. He gave her meds that I read online 'might be harmful for children' and when I asked about a diet plan, he said in a condensing manner that he could give me a print out, but that it was very restrictive, implying that she would not follow it. Will not be going back!

I had a recent visit with my 5 y/o and his behavior was extremely off-putting. 1st off, he has the bedside manner of a baboon, talks down to you like you're an idiot, is rough with his exams, then made no effort to educate me on her condition. He was short in answering questions and was angry that I asked, then gave bad advice on what to do. He yelled at my daughter for running a toy along the wall stop that, you're going to scratch the wall before I even had a chance to correct her behavior.

Absolutely Would not recommend! He didn't say more than 10 words to the child patient and acted extremely annoyed by our presence. He was very short and had absolutely no bedside manner whatsoever. We will not be returning!
