Get a Second Opinion
I think he did the best he could with the information available but he completely misdiagnosed my mom. He said he was 99% sure of his diagnosis which gave us a false sense of confidence. Ultimately he was wrong. I can’t help but wonder if we could have had a much better outcome with another treatment. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion if possible, so you can feel you are making the best decision.

First class!
Dr Withers is not only an exceptional surgeon but also a truly caring wonderful man. I feel so blessed to have been referred to him. My husband says my back scar is a work of art. You can barely see it. I can’t say enough good things about Dr Withers or his office team members, Debra and Trisha, who went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and cared for on each of my visits. Getting pre approval from my insurance was work all by itself! I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this doctor to anyone I know. In fact, already have!

I hope there was a negative star.
I tried to consult this doctor. He said he was a surgeon and I was wasting his time. I hope there was a negative star. The worst doctor in US.

Dr. Withers saved my 22 year old daughter’s life. He made a decision to do what was necessary when Kaiser wouldn’t. My family will always be grateful for the care and expertise that DR. Withers and his staff provided our daughter. Thank you Dr. Withers.

So glad I didn’t have surgery with this doctor. He recommended a pretty radical spine surgery so I got a second opinion. My new surgeon said the surgery recommended by Dr. Withers was not necessary and I improved with PT and injections.

Dr. Withers is brilliant, kindhearted, loving and caring. Dr. Withers saved my life when I was fifteen years old. He's been beyond good to me the last 20 years as his patient. I am beyond blessed to have had him as my surgeon. Thank you Dr. Withers for giving me a second chance at life.

Dr. Withers has been nothing but amazing taking care of me as a patient. He removed a blood clot from my brain and added plates to my skull for a skull fracture. Every visit was amazing and the service through every step of the way was easy and comforting not to forget the amazing front desk personnel. I was very nervous about this before the surgery but I definetly would recommend Dr. Withers.

Dr. Withers is a very exacting and experienced surgeon. These are critical characteristics in my mind if you need neuro surgery. He cares about his patients and will ensure that they receive the best care possible, not only in his office but in the hospital if surgery is required. I have had two surgeries (20 years apart) performed by Dr. Withers and I would not go any where else. I traveled from Pa to be able to have Dr. Withers help me

Snarky, belittling to women, no bedside manner. I had nightmares about my work with Dr. Withers due to his manner. He was angry that I picked another dr. to do my brain surgery, and when I returned, he talked down to me, lied about my test results, wouldn't let my husband sit with me during the appt (we should've insisted!!), and stomped out. He left his wife (a staff member there) to smooth things over. I left sobbing and didn't return. My GP doesn't refer patients to him anymore.
