SHAKING MY HEAD
I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED TO FIND OUT MY DAD HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH THIS DR AND HE WAS OVER 2 HRS LATE. THEN HE DID NOT EVEN EXAMINE MY DAD. HE WALKED IN THE ROOM WITH A COPY OF AN ULTRASOUND THAT WAS ORDERED BY HIS PCP AND TOLD US NOTHING WAS WRONG IT WAS JUST A HYDROCELLE AND NOTHING NEEDED TO BE DONE!!!!! WELL SO WRONG HE HAS A RIGHT INGUINAL HERNIA IF YOU WOULD'VE TAKEN THE TIME TO EXAMINE AND LISTEN TO MY DAD THAT WOULD'VE BEEN DISCOVERED THAT DAY INSTEAD OF 2 MONTHS LATER..........

Dr Ponce is exceptional, but a particular staff in his offices is shameless!!!!! She has No ethics....she lies and procrastinates on doing anything and following through. Actually this seems to be the culture at SWSA and Noone cares. Forget getting a manager involved because they are apart of the " Lazy Do Nada Club" as well.. Shame on YOU Dr. PDL for not getting involved after seeing ALL the negative reviews about your staff. YOU are Complicit in how we are treated by your staff over and over again!!! One day they will get the same shi(t)ty treatment as they have given their patients!!!

Emergency appendectomy on our son. Exceptional surgeon. Explained everything in an easy to understand & reassuring way. Answered questions respectfully & took the upmost of care for our son. Pleasant bedside manner as well. We highly recommend Dr. Ponce de Leon & would seek him out again if there were another need.

I have never been treated so badly by a doctors office before. Wanted to see my cat scan so I went and picked it up brought to his office and they say they can't read it and were going to see what they could do about it, that was over a month ago and I have called left messages and so has my primary doctor and no return call. I am still having problems without any help from this doctor!!!! I wouldn't leave a star but it won't let me move forward unless I do.

Doctor Ponce may be a great surgeon, but the support staff and service is the worst I have ever experienced. Waiting over a month to get results from a GI test. Can’t get an email or a phone all returned after many attempts. I don’t get it.

He did not give me a great amount confidence in him right before surgery, which schools have made me stop the whole thing and demand someone else. Then two weeks post op when I was having major difficulty and extreme pain he said “I’ve looked at the CT, I don’t see anything wrong. What do you want to fix when nothing is wrong?” I as an educated person with numerous degrees and certifications couldn’t believe a “caregiver” would speak to me when I was already crying from the pain and felt lost. I needed help, guidance, support, and he couldn’t even acknowledge that I wasn’t ok. His bedside manner COMPLETELY negates any skill he has as a Surgeon. I firmly believe this! You don’t get a free pass to be rude because you are skilled. There is no reason to be unkind and Show no remorse. I’m broken-hearted to be treated this way when I have a rare and difficult health issue. I’m am back to square one of trying to find help, but never ever from him again.

Was referred to this clown after an E.R. visit. Who ever answers the phone has a terrible attitude. He seemed nice at first, but he acted like my situation was a joke. Spent 2 minutes in the room with me then left and said come back in 2 weeks. Made the appointment at front desk then his rude receptionist called to let me know he'll be out of town and to check back in a month. I was told that i had to wait and could not see another Dr. in the practice. I was finally able to see Dr. Shirley. Turns out he was the same way. They don't care about what you say. I've had an open wound since Oct. 2019. Had to go the ER for the same issue and was finally referred to someone who specializes in what i had. Turns out I have to have surgery to fix my healthcare needs. My body has been draining pus since Oct. Its now Jan. 2020.... stay away from this facility! Totally unprofessional and flat out don't care about their patients. Doesn't deserve a star??

I was referred by my PCP so I set up an appointment. He seemed friendly but he didn't spend much time with us. At the hospital I had a medical professional tell me he was a really good surgeon. So I felt confident everything would turn out fine. It did go off without a hitch. My follow up visit was scheduled. I'd like to say he was great and wonderful but I cannot. He seemed pleasant but I asked him a question why hernias occur. His answer was vague and condescending, I felt. So, for me, not friendly. He left the room. I sat for a couple of more minutes. He walked back by, saw me sitting there and said I was free to go. No further instructions about how long to wear the elastic bandage or if I was to follow up again. Nothing. I got up and walked out. Then, just a few days ago (2 weeks and a day after the surgery) I had severe pain in my abdomen/stomach area much like the day of surgery. My wife called and left a message. As of this writing, no call back, but I have survived.

This was the most horrible experience I ever had. Kept telling him I could feel him cutting me. He never introduced himself, and after I screamed through the whole project, the staff just left the room. He tried to put more anesthesia in but it ended up on my hand and running down my leg. I'm reporting him to the AM A and considering a law suit.
