Dr. Guruswamy Ramamurthy, MD

Dr. Ramamurthy provided excellent care to me while in Blake Hospital do to severe burns. I spent over 130 days will there and Dr. RAM was with me every step of the way. He was a critical part of my care team and never let me or my family down. Good or bad news during my stay he walked my family through their concerns and questions. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great doctor that is exceptionally trained, concerned puts his patients before all else. His support of me, my family and my care givers was and is the best.

My mother was in the hospital after having an emergency surgery. Dr. Ramamurthy was her nephrologist. I was very happy she was under his care. He treated her with kindness, respect and dignity. He was instrumental in saving her life and continues to follow up with her as an outpatient. I also am an RN at HCA Blake Medical Center. I have worked with Dr. Ramamurthy for nearly 30 years. Dr.Ram is very brilliant and an expertise in his field. He is kind, respected and loved by his patients and staff. We are very fortunate to have Dr Ramamurthy in our community. He is highly intelligent yet down to earth at the same time. He has a great bedside manner and we all love him. Thank you Dr Ram for providing the wonderful care you gave my mother. We as a family are eternally grateful. You have many fans at the hospital. It’s always a pleasure to see him! It’s also reassuring to have such a fine physician taking care of your patients and loved ones!

The Dr. Listened to my problems and sent me for extra testings to make sure everything was ok. Great communication and understanding. The staff up front was exceptionally kind and friendly!! Excellent Specialist!!

Words cannot describe the compassionate care Dr. Ramamurthy provided for my father. He pulled him through many difficult times medically, physically, and emotionally. On several occasions he advocated for him with interdisciplinary teams regarding his care. When the time came, he was the one - the only one who could look me in the eyes and validate my family’s decision for hospice care. He sets the gold standard of care for the relationship between patient and physicians.

I would recommend Dr. Ramamurthy to anyone that is need of a kidney specialist. He listens and answers any question you have and he really takes an interest in helping you improve and mange your kidney disease.

Dr. Ram is a very kind, sympathetic and thorough doctor. It’s not often you find a doctor who is passionate about his profession and still have a great bedside manner. My daughter is a nurse and highly recommended him when I need to see a nephrologist. She said she wouldn’t trust me with anyone else. She was right. He truly is the best in his field and I highly recommend this doctor. His office staff is also knowledgeable and helpful. We’ve had to do a couple of teleconference visits since Covid and they are very organized and the visits are still thorough.

This was a video visit. Besides being knowledgeable, Dr. Ramamurthy is also patient and kind. I felt that he was interested in me as a patient and what was best for me under my particular circumstances. I trust his judgment and feel confident about being in his care.

This man saved my father's life. He stayed with him throughout the course of his treatment. When he was first admitted for a cardiology mitral valve clip procedure, my father had serious kidney problems. He introduced himself, had a great bedside manner and told us he would need dialysis immediately. He guided us through the experience, answered every single question we had and when he transferred to rehabilitation services he continued to consult and went above and beyond what other Drs. do.

He spent time just listening to me. He considered other symptoms I had beyond what might be affected by my kidney function.
