Highly qualified and friendly. Excellent communicator in English or Spanish. Will see any of his patients with a problem the same day or next. Mainly cancer surgery, but experienced in all aspects of thoracic surgery and more.

Dr Guajardo is very thorough and informative with myself as his patient.

Dr. Guajardo provides excellent care. He takes the time to explain procedures and answers questions. He is patient and never seems rushed. He performed a wedge resection on my lung and I did have some complications. He monitored my condition, made changes as needed and stayed in touch with me daily while I was home. Months later as I continued to experience discomfort, I emailed him one evening and he replied at 5:30 the next morning. I was scheduled for a CT and an appointment with him asap. He is not only skilled but also accessible, responsive and attentive. His staff is also excellent.

He answered all questions clearly. Didn't rush, but took his time to become acquainted. Asked what concerns I, and my family had. Came across as a knowledgeable and truly nice person. Couldn't have had a better physician.

Dr. Guajardo is one of the few doctors that still practices medicine for the benefit of the patient, not himself. I feel very fortunate he on my team!

Dr. Guajardo performed my esophagectomy resection to remove a cancer tumor on April 5, 2022. His surgical skills are outstanding. This type of surgery is not usually attempted age 80 and over. However, Dr. Guajardo carefully assessed my overall health before recommending to the surgery. This four-hour major surgery has a number of possible post-operative complications, of which I experienced none. During my 6-day hospital confinement, every nurse and other doctor I encountered commented on how Dr. Guajardo's patients rarely had recovery issues. He must be the hardest-working surgeon in San Antonio. He checked on me in person early every morning, even over the weekend. He has a beautiful, positive attitude, and obviously enjoys his work and takes his responsibilities for patient care very seriously.

He responds to questions with as much as detail as you need, and explains things clearly in terms that you can understand. He also expresses compassion and empathy for the difficulties and challenges that cancer patients go through.

He put in my mediport for cancer treatments. Wonderful beside manner. Explains things so patients can understand. Port got infected-he saw me right away, had me email pics/questions about healing. Called and checked on me and even responded to emails over weekend.
