30 minutes with Dr. Maytal completely put me off seeking further mental health support after my cancer diagnosis. He was dismissive, argumentative, and not helpful. He also kept pushing me to consider joining an outside program I will not name. I was suspicious and shrugged off the suggestion but mentioned it to my partner later - she was very surprised. Was it a cancer support group? No, it's a for-profit personal development organization that costs money and has nothing to do with the medical world. Unprofessional.

Dr. Maytal was condescending, belittling, dismissive, and passive aggressive with me. To make matters worse his office is run by incredibly rude and inept people. I truly believe he should have his license revoked. If you care about your mental health, stay away.

Not a pleasant experience
Telehealth
I saw Dr Maytal a while back for ADHD medication management. It was not an pleasant experience. He was at times patronizing, argumentative, and seemingly irritated by and impatient with my concerns/ questions and my desire to try an alternate medication due to side effects. I dreaded our appointments. Perhaps he is a fine diagnostician, but I don’t think he is a good fit to work with patients closely in an ongoing way, especially sensitive patients with ADHD who have likely already experienced so much invalidation and require more support, compassion and understanding than he can offer.

Fine for medication dispensing but extremely full of himself and often condescending. Gets easily exasperated with patient follow ups.

Over charging and no regard for access to care
Anyone who charges $800 per hour really could care less about access to care and the mental health of those in need.

Horribly inefficient office. No one ever picks up the phone. It looks months to get an appointment. He is full of himself. I can' imagine how this "professional" can be of any use to anybody.
