My 40 year old sister was battling colon cancer that metastasized to her liver. Her Oncologist set an appointment with Dr. Nathan via tele doc. This man had no empathy and after a 15 second introduction blurted out, “You have ten tumors in your liver. You will be on chemo the rest of your life. But, we hope you’ll be sitting across the desk from us for at least 2-5 years.” When we asked about surgery (she had already had 16” of her colon and a tumor removed)… He stated he would not do surgery as it was “A Pandora’s box and he wouldn’t know what he would encounter.” The best he could offer her was chemotherapy. I am writing this in an Uber heading home from MD Anderson in Texas after her 3 month scan from her completely successful tumor removal surgery. She is considered cancer free at this moment. We will continue 3 month scans for the next two years and then progress to yearly scans. Dr. Nathan, do better sir. Do better.

Nathan performed a resection of my portocaval mass surgery in 2018. 9 days after the surgery I woke up with the infection pouring out of my incision. I landed back in the hospital for 3 days. Two weeks later, I landed in ER with Cellulitis. Was sent home with my wound vac that I had on 24/7 for 2 ½ months. I found out later that he nicked my bowel and my superior mesenteric artery, and had to put stitches in both but never mentioned it to me or my family. I would not recommend him. Large ego.
